in the second half life installment, the man at the beginning advises that you do not drink the water as it has chemicals that make you forget events, and that he does not remember how he ended up in city 17.
now let me ask you this, how would he remember that he drank the water, and that it made him forget? how would he remember that he went from somewhere to city 17? how does he know that he wasn't in city 17 before the events of half life 2?
