Ok BugSnax is going to be a psychological horror game and here’s why: ***[12:41 PM]1. The ESRB rating is yet to be released. You would thing with such a cute and colorful exterior, it would be easy to rate this game, right? Wrong. They are keeping its M rating a secret.[12:42 PM]2. It’s developed by the devs who made Octodad, which is a similar case of cute exterior with some deeper narrative themes. Do not be fooled by them. Additionally Kero Kero Bonitio is doing the OST so that very much gives off horror vibes(edited)[12:46 PM]***[/b] 3. The BugSnax are PEOPLE. In the established lore of the game, when you consume a BugSnax, you partially become that Snax. In the song and marketing, it literally says “we are whatever we eat”. Additionally, on the BugSnax official webpage as well as newly released gameplay trailer, it is clear that at the very least there is a mystery surrounding this island of SnaxTooth. Quote: “why do the bug snax taste SO GOOD?”. I simply would like to point to a similar narrative: soylent green. When someone eats many BugSnax, they slowly and painfully become said BugSnax and are doomed to lifetime of being chased for the express purpose of being EATEN.
