TL;DR This game is worth playing, but get it on sale. It's short and not super replayable.

I expected this game to be Hyper Light Drifter but as a 3D platformer, and in that regard it let me down horribly. This isn't as good of a game as HLD, it's not as memorable or as long, nor is the atmosphere as rock solid. However, the only regard I believe it truly failed in, was living up to my (admittedly VERY high) expectations. There's a part of me, deep in my heart, that wants to give this game a negative review. I can't do that in good faith, because this game is not bad. The movement and platforming feels good, the combat feels good, the atmosphere is very nice, the writing and world building is good and well incorporated. It just wasn't what I hoped it was going to be.

Basically, this is the best game that's ever disappointed me.

This DLC and the update that came with it were utter embarrassments. I can't believe this was cleared for release. Absurdly easy, not engaging at all, even on nightmare. It felt like playing the base campaign on UV. AND they had the gall to go back and nerf the last DLC and one of the master levels? Is that a joke? That has to be a joke.

Got two hours in and saw a tiddy

I believe this is the best FPS game you can play. And I don't say that lightly.

This makes every FPS to come before it feel slow in comparison.

Personally, I'm just here for the aesthetic.

Wish more fps games had vertical 360s while airborne. I mean I don't really get to make use of it that often and it's kinda disorienting but MAN does it make me feel bad ass.

If you like Hotline Miami, you're gonna like this.

Pretty good

The final boss of TAG2 is utterly unacceptable. Needs a complete overhaul. How can you hype something up like that and then drop the ball that horrendously? I can't recommend this game until this is addressed. I felt like my intelligence was being insulted.

Halo 3 is here and it's running smoothly, therefore I'm obligated to change my review from negative to positive. Good job 343, don't get my expectations too high though, I don't want to be disappointed when infinite rolls around.
