Feels like OG BF

Impressive: 85-94 (85-94%)

The game is set in 2324 but the era is still stuck in the 1940's which gives me Bioshock vibes and I loved it. The narration from the protagonist through out the game is absolutely nailed by the voice actor and it just feels so damm immersive as If you're watching a classic neo nior film. The detective's backstory is a very similar one to how the neo nior style storyline's go and that's absolutely fine as they work so well. He's struggling with a past accident that got his partner killed and had also lost his wife, he spends his time drinking whisky and smoking trying to find peace. The story follows a simple lead that uncovers so dark secrets.

The gameplay feels repetitive and boring, the fact you load into the same areas, just at different times to do missions feels lazy and the maps themselves feel like they could be made in a few days, the overall performance of the game is very good, the dialogue between characters is funny and enjoyable to listen to. The UI and way the game guides you to the next mission(s) In the menu is god awful and just confuses you. I couldn't get myself to finish the game as it was just annoying and frustrating to play.

The gameplay is fun and has a somewhat new take on the genre. It requires major performance improvements due to it being a very unoptimised port and FPS can drop from 200 down to 70 in a instance (this mainly occurs with the sand effects (no option to toggle on or off). The game can feel grindy at times where it is a requirement to progress to the next stages (Collect shards). The story is a basic one at best that has you tasked of finding and taking down Thelos and his oppressive regime. I would say there are a lot better games with a similar premise that I'd recommend over this one.

My review on this game should be taken with a pinch of salt as its not my most favourable genre.

JUST BUY IT...

Great crossover, ignore the child haters

Love the art and overall game style. The comic book cut scenes are amazingly done.

Personally i think the third person resident evil games (2,3,4 reamke) are alot more fun from a gameplay perspective but ofc R7 & 8 are story rich and play like movie style games. 7/10
