This game has something that modern games seem to lack, and it isn't just the nostalgia speaking when I manage to pull 12 hours of gameplay out of the game.

It's whacky and at the same time it also feels realistic in an archetypical way. It is simple to play and opens up at a good gradual pace, introducing new complexities only as you master the previous features presented to you.

I like the aesthetic design, and the way that the characters are portrayed, since it stimulates an archetypical expectation while also reinforcing the fact that it is a video game where you're meant to have fun, meaning that doesn't take itself too seriously.

What it is kind of lacking is replayability, after completing all the missions and having "won" in freeplay mode, there isn't really anymore to explore, except from completing the game on the hardest difficulty, which I'm not the type of person that cares about. For a $6 game, I wouldn't expect any replay ability either, and for $6 dollars I don't expect the replayability to be there, like I would with a $200 title, e.g. Europa Universalis IV with DLCs.

Technical stuff:

- I played it on Windows 10 without any issues, at my native resolution. However, the game automatically down-scales, but I did not find that disturbing to my experience, and the game probably looks best at it's intended resolution.

- Scrolling around the map by using the mouse at the screen edges is very fast, had to click on the mini-map or use the arrow-keys.

- The steam overlay doesn't work in the game at all.

Some criticisms of this title and improvements for the next game:

1. Rebels that you kill should die. Instead of just rebelling again in 6 months.
2. Revise or replace infamy system in favaor of what can be seen in EU4 for example
3. Agency to steer/thoughts the ideology of your population, and ways to influence foreign populations.
4. Add more historical events for every country, in comparison with all other flagship titles this one has a great lack of events for minor nations.
5. Expand the diplomatic gameplay, e.g. add the ability to issue trade embargos

CS:GO Review
The game by itself is of course an absolute classic, which might be part of the issue here, the reluctance to change.

Specifically, I am leaving this as a bad review, because of not taking any sigificant steps towards elimating cheating.

I'd suggest that you create a new type of competitive queue that requires a greater level of anti-cheat, do that and do it succesfully, then I will change my review. It would be a type of queue for people that don't mind having less privacy in exchange for greater chance of a game without cheaters.

The game is quite awesome, there seems to be a wealth of options avaliable to you when you design your mechs. Depending on why you play the game you may choose to play ranked though which limits your designs to what you find most effective instead of most awesome looking.

You have a great deal of control when desiging your machine in the robot editor, bear in mind that you can't get the look perfect in all cases since you have to unlock some structural blocks by earning levels and spending the tech points you get from leveling up. But almost all my needs were covered, which is better than what the vast majority of games has to offer.

The core game itself is really good, I can't wait until they add more features around the core gameplay. I'm not exactly sure what other weapons and blocks they could add since I've just tried the game today, but it would seem that at some point you'd run out of viable options, there may be a lot of silly designs you can dream up but those won't last in ranked games.

This game is for...

The game is for you if you like other games where you design contraptions and machines and test them afterwards, if you like streamlined logical systems or building in general just for the astethics but you'd need to buy a premium subscription for the low price of $2 a month to get all the cosmetic bits. The game reminds me a lot about the MechWarrior games, so if you were into those then I'd defintely recommend this for you.

Early Access Review
I now recommend this game again because you can't buy it.
But I still think the ideas of the game were good and I think if they had the required resources they would have made something great, so personally I recommend it for others to try and revive again.

Old review:
According to what I've heard now, from various rumors they're going to close down the game.
Therefore, I don't recommend that you invest your hard earned money in this title.

I'm sorry.

Old Old review:
The game feels like these titles: M&B and WotR, not as much Chivalry Medieval Warfare.
I'd say that for an early access title, it holds up pretty well. There aren't any major bugs, but there are a few.

I've owned the game for a couple of weeks now, and the developers gives status updates regularly and they've setup systems for the players to easily provide feedback, through their website. The playerbase is mature and friendly.

If you're looking for a medieval feudal experience with massive battles and skill-based combat, I'd highly recommend that you'd show your support for such a title by buying a copy.

I'll be updating my reviews based on future patches.

This game is worth its price tag.
Summary
A short albeit entertaining and well composed game about shaping slaves into death machines, lacking in replayability and depth. For what it's worth the consumer is left richer.

Personally I managed to squeeze around 12 hours out of it before moving on, beating it at 8 hours. That is good relative to the price tag.

Even after I had beaten the game I continued for a while in endless mode, but the game becomes repetitive and unchallenging quickly after having beaten it. That is what you can expect from a game with such a low price tag. I like it nonetheless and I'd like to see more like this. But the game leaves you wanting more.

Positives
Overall game feeling is amazing
Great aesthetics (Graphics)
Great music
Great voice acting
Developer still updating the game (Perfromance & Balancing)
- Sidenote: The only section where I experienced performance issues was at the very end of the game, and it is not much, but it can be annoying, there's currently a beta patch that fixes it checkout the community hub for the game for details on the patch.

Negatives
A short experience; That only leaves you wanting more.
No modability (At least as far as I can see)

Conclusion
I'd highly recommend that you try this game, hopefully the developer gets enough success to release a new title that has more depth and replayability. Perhaps the developer can make a new game based off of this game? I'd like to see this as an RPG maybe, could be an expansion.

If you're a poor gamer that desires experiences with replayability and depth, I'd advise that you put your money elsewhere.

Lastly, I think it may have been a mistake from the developers side not to include modability, since it could have added several more hours into the game.
