Early Access Review
Now this is brilliant. RPG-like customization and incrementals go great together. But this is no idle game, as you'll always have some part of your setup that you can experiment with and optimize. And then, your tinkering will be rewarded with huge bursts of power. Now you're a true wizard.

Snappy Kaiju-fighting tactics featuring a variety of units which appropriately die in one hit but have various capabilities that you'll need to counteract the Kaiju's own abilities, as well as a deck-based system where both you and the Kaiju's side play cards to benefit from special effects each turn.
The game also has a great aesthetic that celebrates its inspirations, and an awesome soundtrack. I'm glad I didn't miss this gem.

Come for Korean anime X-COM, stay for so much more than just Korean anime X-COM.

TROUBLESHOOTER adds mechanics which are easy to understand, but make the tactical combat much more interesting. Notably, melee combat is very fleshed out, with features such as zone of control, blocking and counterattacking, and dash attacks with accuracy affected by distance traveled. There are a good variety of status effects and channeled abilities to master the usage of, too.

The buildcrafting potential is IMMENSE. Instead of a fixed perk tree you have to follow along, you slot in perks solely based on a points and category-based system, with set bonuses being awarded for certain combinations of perks being active. Some of these even unlock additional actions to be used in battles. This puts you fully in control of what you want your Troubleshooters to be specialized in. The game also offers item crafting, beast taming, and robot building, which I think aren't required for completion but I recommend getting into to have even more options at your disposal.

The characters and story are surprisingly well thought-out. None of the protagonists and the villains are there "just because", but instead are all fighting to further individual goals they have. Thus, at the same time that you're growing your heroes in power through gameplay, they're also growing as human beings.

The English translations are a bit janky, but I've not had any issues understanding what they mean, and I've found some endearing quotes from the results. So if you don't give this game a shot, "The fool dies the first".

Don't have any Steam hours logged due to having spent all of my time with this game as its free Flash portal iteration, but it's always stood out as being one of the best RPG experiences to be had on those sites. Buying it here supports the developer as thanks for the historical entertainment, and also provides a definitive experience of the game as a standalone application with higher quality audio and some reduction to the grindier aspects of the progression system.

For MARDEK fans of olde, the pdf provides a great way to get some closure to the story abruptly ended as it was, as well as gain some insights into the behind the scenes thought process that went into the existing chapters. Picking up a copy of the game's classic soundtrack, and the piano collection, is absolutely a plus.

Not your average rhythm game, you have to pay attention to the melody and use your memory. (... it's in the title)
Also contains a story that tackles the topic of personal health, which does need more attention.
For fans of Tobias's previous works, his writing and music are a draw, as always.

Recommended if you like reasonably short adventures involving mixing and matching equipment and dice rolls.
Not recommended if you insist that the singular of 'dice' is 'die', except you can install a mod to fix that so still recommended actually.

Improves upon its predecessors in every single way. Viewed on its own, it's got a charm that follows you throughout the entire experience, and is full of content and polish to be enjoyed. The developers deserve every bit of support they can get for their dedication towards making EBF what it is today.
Now bigger and better in 2020.

Bunnies have never been this deadly. Or tactical. Until now.

The only game that pits you and your armies of knights and bow-wielding elves and also the very laws of physics themselves against every single lapine out there.

It's not the most mechanically loaded game on the market, but it's so satisfying to stake your claim in the world and fight off threats with your own army. I must give kudos to the the team behind
this game for what they've accomplished in a mere month.
