I sadly can not recommend this game in its current state.

Beyond the performance issues, which are themselves a reason to hold off purchasing unless you can confidently brute force the game. The game is just obviously not in a finished state when it comes to the most important feature, the actual city simulation.

The state of the economic and service simulation is for me a far more egregious issue than the performance and that came down to the realisation that after several hours of play that the economy is currently a more primitive version of the CS1 economy. Industries do not deliver to businesses or export goods reliably, garbage and postal services essentially do not function, death services are sluggish and prone to breaking, emergency services are simply just laugh out loud slow.

Education is also obviously not working as intended when you require 20 elementary schools but only one high school, service upkeep in general seems horribly balanced , too the point where a 'government payment' is required to keep players afloat, just because they want to put down some basic services in their small town.

This is not a case of a few unforeseen bugs popping up when the masses start playing, these are glaringly obvious issues for anyone who puts in more than 30 minutes into the game will start to discover. It is a game that has been obviously pushed out the door in an unfinished state. It is so bad that I have now put the game down until it is fixed as it is just simply not worth playing at the moment.

While a full priced follow up so close to the first hurts, this is an excellent sequel that improves a lot on the first game.

Take two is becoming more anti-consumer by the day.
