This long awaited game (well, about a third of one) doesn't even really deliver on the basics, let alone create anything special. Sure, there's some cool stuff in here and some new races, but that's accompanied by some pretty shocking UI design (it wasn't broken, why did they try and fix it? and why is it SO RED) and a campaign that you cannot leave alone, meaning your legendary lord has to either be in the chaos realms OR sitting in a capital waiting for debuffs to wear off (who's bloody idea was that??) capped off with an absolutely awful take on a portal mechanic (it was so close to being cool) that the AI ignore so you have to police your allies areas as well as your own (which they get upset about btw) or corruption will destroy you.

Save your money AT LEAST until they release Mortal Empires (whenever that may be since the "Blood DLC" is up next) and even then really consider if its worth the spend for this one.

You're better off buying 1 and 2 on sale.

Overall, pretty buggy and not enough like the tabletop game to be worth the nostalgia purchase.

There doesn't seem to be any "risk" for it either, health pools are generous and guns are inaccurate or jam (I like that bit) but combined it means your aimed headshot is just shrugged off...meh.

Wouldn't recommend it unless it sees a lot of further development, right now you're purchasing an alpha at full cost, it needs some more gangs and a lot of bug fixes.

Would you like to commit war crimes while also driving a giant bipedal robot? If so this game is for you!

The sound track is pretty awesome as well, the DLC ones are worth (first time I've ever said that).

All in all, good game, awesome music.

You should note that the system specs in the store page are years out of date. As of 29/11/19 you need Vulkan to run this game. Pretty annoying to have a game suddenly yanked away because the dev team are ♥♥♥♥ at communication. Aside from that its come really far since its launch and if your system can do it then go for it.

Badly managed launch, poor unpack times and constant graphics and processor issues. Almost unplayable on a "Recommended" system.

The game itself isnt exactly overwhelming.
- SP is linear and pretty average from what I've been able to get to, a real letdown from what we have previously seen (say DoW2) with very limited customisation.
- MP is a joke and plays more like a bastard child of DotA and a tower defense rather than an actual RTS.

After owning and loving all the DoW games, this has killed it.

I went and got a refund.
