The developers are tone-deaf to their actual audience and pandered to the perpetually-online Twitter crowd that doesn't actually play the game.

A terrible asset flip that continued the trend of adding hundreds of "achievements" that don't require effort to obtain. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for an enjoyable game.

Eldritch is a procedurally-generated FPS dungeon crawler with rougelite and stealth functions built in. The premise of the game is to collect 3 orbs, one per world, and use them to escape the hub area, known as the Library. Each world exists within a book on a pedestal within the Library, and each contain differing enemy types and hazards. Within the Library, 3 extra worlds exist, including the Mountains of Madness, Trick-or-Treat, and the Asylum.

Within the game, you can find basic items, such as artifacts, keys, and ammunition. Stonger items include boots, gear, kits, weapons, tools, and much more. You even discover shrines that give you magical abilities. Artifacts act as a form of currency and as fuel for your magic, and can be stored in bank chests to be used in future runs.

You begin the game with no items or build at all. You find everything needed within the books to make a build. You can take a stealthy approach, using silent weapons to subdue foes or tossing items to distract them instead. If that doesn't suit you, then try going in guns blazing, shooting anything that moves and blowing through walls. With certain builds, you can even just outrun everything, not really fighting them at all.

Death is that of a rougelite, removing all progress that you have made in the worlds. However, artifacts that have been banked and opened books stay unlocked, making death a matter of trying again.

The game is really easy to get into, but takes time and dedication to perform well in. With it's high replayability, it shouldn't be too hard to continue trying.

This game doesn't even deserve a real review, as it's just so awful.

I can't in good conscience recommend this game any longer considering the sorry state it's been left to rot in for years.
