The Epic Games Store crap and the long reach of the demonic Tim Sweeney are severe downsides to this game, but they claim they will be removing it at some point due to the outcry at least.

Otherwise this game is EDF5 but with more QOL improvements, an incredible amount of enemy variety, and the story is pure CINEMA. Same great cheesey voice acting (don't listen to the mongs that say it's AI), same goofy jokes, same ol' edf. God I love this game

NOW YOU KNOW HOW STRONG PHOBOS IS

Oddly good performance despite having well below recommended specs.
Online play requires a 3rd party paradox account, and is very stable, with zero desyncs and crashes per game, or even per turn.
Offline play is also very stable, with lategame turns taking not very long to pass, and save corruptions/gamebreaking bugs being unheard of.
Autoresolve is heavily fair, with "safe battles" consistently being safe, while the same fight in manual combat is just as safe.
Order/nature affinity, and good alignment options are outright well-balanced like every other affinity or alignment.
Infestations and world events specifically enhance the fun.
Diplomacy might as well exist for how intelligent and sane the AI can be, even with matching affinities and alignment.
Any spell or unit that can summon more units is cool, especially the necromancy tomes.
Even on relaxed difficulty, the AI always executes relaxed strategies in manual combat and plays fairly.
Dragon dlc is very fun and cool, while the eldritch and reaver dlcs are also very fun

Unrelated to the game itself, but the official paradox wiki for AoW4 is full of missing information and is almost useless.

I have rarely gotten the dopamine high of pure enjoying the exploration and little touches of care and SOVL from the developer as much as I have in this game, I can't recommend it enough and I'm not even finished.

It's like dark souls 2 2.0, which is a great thing to me. Unfortunately, polish catholic devs :(

I waited for this game for ten years and it's actually a step down from dark arisen.
The control layout for vocations is significantly worse, and the handful of old skills that became core skills doesn't make up for it. Sorcs especially lose out having essentially lost two spells slots
The overworld is 90% narrow cliff paths filled with the usual gobbos/harpies/saurians. They really dropped the ball on upping enemy variety, it might even be worse than before. There's few new monsters, and they actually dropped some like the Hydra, cockatrice, evil eye and lich. Hell, there's not even eliminators.
There's even MORE timed quests, and the entire endgame is timed I hear but honestly I got so burnt out I didn't even get to it after the first set of timed 'kill the drake + while babysitting an escort' garbage. The story also hasn't hit so far but again I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

All in all Im genuinely depressed after waiting 10 years for this sequel, itsuno lied and hinted there would be secrets or more vocations constantly and I'm mad about it.

It's a fun and cute little roguelike that bears a lot of inspiration from things like Slay the Spire, but with a very interesting RE4 inventory management twist. Builds are unique and varied and you have to put a lot of thought into how you decide to play, it's a good game

Feels like the true spiritual successor to nioh 2, I'm far too lazy into getting into why the mechanics are good but uh they're good, Jack's english VA hits it out of the park, actual good game pls play

Aside from one audio bug that i had and some performance issues that are getting patched out, it's basically monster hunter world with some variations, the karakuri system is both good and fun and a great addition to the genre
