Initially fun but gets monotonous and boring relatively quickly. Would recommend buying it when it's really cheap on sale.

Fantastic. Endearing and eccentric characters, enthralling storylines, clever plot twists, original game mechanics, YUMMMM. I'm usually a bit iffy about visual novels but this kicked BUM.

Well worth the price considering the high quality of this game and considering how much content is in this game. I spent 102 hours finishing the trilogy and that was also after I used guides for quite a few of the solutions!

Battleblock Theater is a comedic platformer game developed by "The Behemoth." It gets a lot of notability for it's whacky humour which is presented by an eccentric narrator who has a very silly voice. The game, to me, never made me laugh out loud but the comedic style of the game gave it a more lighthearted feel which made it much more likable than a game without personality. That's not to say there weren't moments I found genuinely funny but it was only an occasional thing. However, that's also not to say that a few of the jokes weren't terrible and overused. The narrator cutting off before swearing and saying something else less vulgar, making a little song and failing to rhyme, and joking about poop and farts are all examples of banal comedy etiquettes featured in this game. I appreciate the attempt to make the game cheerful but sometimes I feel like I'm playing a game for middle/early high schoolers.

The aesthetics comprises of animation that looks like it was made by a flash animator. For some reason I very rarely see this style in games but it is a likable aesthetic because it kind of feels like you're playing in a cartoon.

But despite the overwhelming focus of the game's silliness the most important and respectable feature, in my opinion, is the gameplay. It's very smooth and fluid, double jumping feels good, circumventing obstacles is fun, the level design is good, and it is a very, very solid platformer; the gameplay should not be underestimated by the mislead opinion that it is merely casual. It may be relatively casual for normal mode, but the late levels, extra levels, as well as the "insane difficulty" will be sure to challenge you and challenge platformer fans. The only problem I had with the gameplay was the combat. It felt clunky and minimally optimized and created a few irritating moments. But for me it was easily overlooked by everything else, gameplay-wise.

Co-op is featured in this game which was integrated really well. Playing levels casually with friends requires communication and teamwork to overcome challenges and puzzles that are only possible through each other's help.

Overall should you get the game? I reckon so mate.

Celeste is yet another indie pixelated platformer that gets a large portion of money from appealing to nostalgia. The art style isn't particuarly beautiful, it is pretty much what you would expect from a game like this, and the story is pretty clear-cut and ordinary. But despite all these reoccuring tropes of a game of this fashion I still think this game is worthy of a purchase. Why? For a few reasons, but predominantly for the extraordinarily smooth gameplay and wonderful controls. Everything is very polished, no glitches, and your success rate is entirely determined by your skill. The dash mechanic worked really well and it set up a new type of way to play platformers. Instead of only running/jumping across the screen, you dash multiple times in mid-air, latch onto walls, avoid and overcome different obstacles exclusive to each level; such as platforms where enemies emerge if you stand on them for too long and strong gusts of wind that you must circumvent using a pre-planned strategy. Most importantly, however, are all the level props that are almost exclusive to each level that seemlessley interact with the way you use your dashing mechanic. For example: gems that give you an extra dash whilst in mid-air, feathers that temporarily transform you into a ball of energy and let you fly around dangerous obstacles, and big blocks that charge in the direction that you dash them in. In fact I think it's fair to say the gameplay is οrgasmically good. I was unsure of how my body mechanisms work after playing this game because for some strange, inexplicable reason, feeling the smoothness of the gameplay caused me to uncontrollably, and powerfully οrgasm. I came all over my gosh darn legs! In fact whenever my refractory period finished, while I was still playing the game, I would release another round of semén yet again. It gave me the courage to leave my wife. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship with her and our marriage had devolved into a cesspool of negative feelings and annoyances for each other. The love for her I used to cling onto so dearly, for who I truly thought was my soulmate, had completely faded. During the final moments of our unhealthy marriage the only reason I continued to be married with her was so that I could exert my sexual energy into something. But now that I have stumbled upon this game's seemingly supernatural ability to emit uncontrollable, powerful οrgasms upon interaction with the gameplay I now have no need for her and have finally ended the emotionally harmful relationship with her.

I enjoyed talking to the charismatic characters of the game and the chemistry between characters was enjoyable to behold. There were funny moments and there were also "deep" moments where another character would ease the stress of the situation by being relaxed and having fun even in troublesome situations. I also enjoyed the Animal Crossing-esque sound effect for talking.

The collectables in this game are a nice touch and comprise of a considerably large portion of the main game. Unlike other games, the collectables are more dependant on putting in extra effort into certain parts of the level rather than looking around for secrets. Meaning those striving for a 100% completion will be having more fun exerting their efforts into challenges rather than following guides or aimlessley looking around for secret nooks and crannies. Not to say there aren't any hidden collectables, because they exist, but are only few and far between. Collecting cassette tapes will unlock extra challenging versions of levels with a remixed sound track of the level. Beating all these extra levels will unlock another bunch of increasingly challenging levels. Platformer fans who like a good challenge will adore these features and it will be easy to pour in many hours for this game.

The biggest problem I had with this game was the assist mode. Assist mode is a feature that you can turn on easily from the main menu. You can make yourself invincible, give yourself the ability to have infinite air dashes and the ability to give yourself infinite stamina for wall climbing. These type of features are usually fine by me because it gives the player the ability to be free to do whatever he or she wants but there are literally no negative consequences for turning assist mode on. Once you turn assist mode off the "assist mode stamp" immediately leaves your save slot and there are no marks or anything to indicate you used assist mode on your save file. Turning assist mode on also doesn't disable achievements meaning for puritans this game will be a begrudgingly difficult game to complete but for people who don't mind using assist mode completing this game becomes a cinch. There's also a death count on your save file and getting zero deaths is easily achievable through assist mode. Completing this game isn't an impressive feat in and of itself, and using completely legitimate in-game methods it doesn't require the slightest ounce of effort to complete. Due to the easy accessibility and lack of any consequences, this game doesn't incentivise you to do the challenges properly at all and I feel much more inclined to put in my efforts in a game that rewards me for my efforts. But, yeah, anyway, most people wouldn't really care about this at all, but to the few that do, like me, this is just a heads up.

In conclusion: fantastic gameplay, really good level design, well placed secrets, nice characters, decent art style, average story and an abhorrent incorporation of an assist mode.
