I had played the demo of this game from Digit/CHIP magazine CD back in 1998//1999, it was freaking awesome but the hardware and software prices were very hard to afford for me back then. So i bought this game about a year back and decided to give it a go now. I found that my HOTAS One can be configured to be used with this game so imma try it real soon. People loved this game so much that they made updates like FreeSpace Open and Knossos and many mods although i cannot figure out how to use them and want to play vanilla first.

add - 05-09-2024, the game works fairly well with my ThrustMaster T-flight HOTAS one, i also used nglide to bump up screen resolution to 1080p and get the game to render in GLIDE. The game is fun to play and im halfway through act I of III. I am playing vanilla but it is still kewl.

From what i gather of the plots humanity has expanded into space and there seem to be two factions at odds with each other, the Terrans and Vasudans(may or may not be of alien origin). But now an unknown alien faction(shivans) with strong weaponry and advance shielding tech on their fighters has been proving a threat and i suppose the Terrans and Vasudans will have to form an alliance to stand up to them.
