This was one of the most beautiful stories and game worlds I've sunk into. The cutesy old-school RPG design, the "turn-based combat" and the heavy-themed writing were what got me seriously hooked and almost on the verge of tears. The characters in this game are honestly one of its main strengths.

The only complaints that I have are that the game isn't exactly clear in the tutorial regarding the "time" gauge at the bottom and how that influences when it's your turn in combat and how sometimes the combat experience just looks off at higher resolutions (1280x960 fullscreen without bilinear filtering) - specifically regarding the background coloring and how some specific attacks block Lavender in a hurt frame.

Overall 9/10. Pick it up - you won't regret it, and on top of that it's free.

easily one of my favourite games in history, it's hard to find a game with better movement physics

The gameplay hasn't aged really well, the augmentations system is a bit clunky at first and some key binds are straight up weird, but the world, characters and writing in general more than make up for its shortfalls.

It's worth its full price and a hell of a lot more entertaining than Dan Brown's novels.

This game was okay up until the controls' "optimization". The developer returned the old physics engine, which is good in a way; however, I have to say it's literally easier to drift in a real car than it is in this with a keyboard.

Hilarious at times, emotional at times; a true rollercoaster ride till the end no matter how you experience it. Easily one of my best games of all time, despite its disappointing length of roughly six or so hours for the true ending.

Did I mention also how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing the soundtrack is? Songs like Bonetrousle (Papyrus' theme) or the Ruins BGM are truly amazing and even perfectly fitting with the atmosphere.

The fandom is cancer, though; I'll give you that. But as long as you stay away from tumblr, you shouldn't worry about it and just play the damn game yourself.

This game cost me my dignity.

In other words, I got it for free.

Mixes turn-based squad strategy (XCOM) with real-time third person combat (every TPS ever) and random accuracy (S.T.A.L.K.E.R), while delivering it under the guise of WW2 Kawaii Edition + Feels.

Surpassed my expectations by a very far shot. And, as some of you know, my standards for a good game tend to be pretty high. This is pretty much the only game which made it into my top 3 of all time within 24 hours of buying it.

The movement shooter DNA Counter-Strike has had since the birth of Half-Life is what's been carrying it on, and that's what makes it feel amazing to play as a shooter - the fact that you can bunnyhop to a certain degree and airstrafe should be enough to explain how I feel about this game.

Unfortunately if you want to sustainably enjoy this game, I really recommend getting a group of friends or going to community servers and meeting people there; solo queuing can be quite the experience, and CS after all is a team game.

21 years of playing Counter-Strike at the time of writing this review and I don't intend to ever forget the experiences this game gave me. <3

First off, Dystopia is not a stand-alone F2P game, but a mod for HL2. I have played Dystopia since 2008, back when the community was way more lively than now (it's dead already). I'll never forget how fun it was to mess around with the "perks" you could pick for each character; no single player had the same playstyle as another. That's what made the deathmatch part so fun. Then they added objective based gamemodes. Which made it all the more fun, and didn't stop people from randomly killing/TKing eachother.

Dystopia has a special place for me, placing it as the first online enabled game/mod I played extensively (aside from CS 1.6), which led me to where I am today. It's just as amazing as Fortress Forever was. Shame the HL2 MP mods are dead. Someone needs to man up and revive the community already!
