Immortality is not just a game but an encrypted video editor, filled with eerie fragments of information that lead to a grand mystification (even the game’s achievements are part of the mystery). You’ll investigate three unfinished films - each essentially a full-length movie - along with behind-the-scenes footage, piecing together connections through objects and scenes.

The gameplay feels like an interactive puzzle: there’s no traditional action, only pure observation, investigation, and deep immersion in the mystery. It plays like a video-editing nightmare , where you’re not controlling events but witnessing something unsettling unfold. Many scenes are shot in a single continuous take, creating an unparalleled sense of realism and engagement.

Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of Lars von Trier’s "Dogville" and the experimental storytelling of Netflix’s "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch", Immortality offers a mesmerizing yet haunting experience. This is a story where the truth is hidden between the frames - and only the most attentive viewer can decipher it. A huge recommendation for cinematography lovers; otherwise, it may be a strange experience.

This game is designed for those who love platformers and enjoy completing games.

I believe it not only provides a narrative perspective on communication issues but also demonstrates how these issues can be perfectly addressed in a massively successful co-op online game. From the way you acquire it ($5 - CIS / 10$ - rest world for one player with EA subscription, with the second player joining for free) to how you overcome challenges together - seeing your buddy’s perspective on your screen with different button layouts - it truly highlights CO-LLA-BO-RATION!

The variety of gameplay situations and diverse biomes is absolutely wild.

The humour is on same level with classic LucasArts games and Double Fine Productions , which is always pleasure to see!

Without a doubt Huge RE-CO-MEN-DATION!

After 10 years since the CGI announcement E3 trailer was released, I finally beat this game on normal difficulty (the highest available on the first playthrough) in 57 hours, including the Yuffie DLC. By the way, I never completed the original game.

And I have to say - this first part of the trilogy was a really good adventure! And yes, I recommend it. And yes, I immediately installed Rebirth after finishing this! Why? Let me tell you about the good (and bad) sides:

- The narrative is linear but well-directed. I love how the story gives off strong "F*cking Arasaka" vibes from Cyberpunk 2077 and the absurdly evil corporate level of Hi-Fi Rush.
- The music is phenomenal, setting the tone for 99% of the game: from melancholic blues, guitar, and piano to epic orchestral scores mixed with furious house, jazz, reggae, and rock music genres.
- The cutscene production is top-tier and plays a massive role in the storytelling. The choreography, scale, and stage direction are insanely well-executed.
- The gameplay is a mix of old-school party and inventory management (Dragon Age: Origins, Planescape: Torment) combined with real-time action (simple version of Devil May Cry). It’s well-balanced and challenging on max difficulty. The difficulty spikes around Chapters 7-8, so normal difficulty is best for those who want a real challenge. Some bossfights is incredibly good!

And for those wondering about the technical side - unfortunately, the game’s performance (same goes for Rebirth) is questionable without modding. Tweaking Unreal Engine 4’s "Engine.ini" file is necessary to eliminate micro-stutters, motion blur and blurry textures, and to stabilize FPS. I highly recommend using FFVIIHook from NexusMods and the "Engine.ini" file from Oxford King's YouTube video "Best STUTTER FIX Guide for Final Fantasy 7 Remake"!

The game also smartly reuses assets but it feels ok, making for an efficient yet polished and immersive experience. The world feels alive and cohesive, maintaining suspension of disbelief until the very end.

As I said before - I'm glad I beat it, and I’m really looking forward to beating Rebirth and the upcoming third part! Twin Pack is a great deal!

This game is a hidden gem!

If you liked Hades (I mention it because it shares the same core genre philosophy) but wished for similar mechanics with more combat variety and the ability to play with friends (up to four players in one session— not just a gimmick, but a killer feature), then this is a must-have choice!

It’s fun to play and looks very promising, even in early access!

Wishing the devs the best of luck with the full release!

[Final thoughts about the game after 149 hours of gameplay without any prior knowledge]

It took me 65 hours to complete the main campaign on normal difficulty without using any guides, builds, trading, or other external resources, with a total of 150 deaths. I managed to complete two ascendancy temples on my own. The three acts on cruel difficulty took me another 32 hours to beat using the same approach, with 144 deaths in total.

Based on my experience, I have three suggestions for GGG as the developer and publisher of this game:

1) Address community issues: take steps to manage toxic and gatekeeping behavior among top community content creators (e.g., certain controversial figures like a blue-haired femboy who cyberbullying another content creator from another game for things he didn't) and stop trolling your primary competitors in the market as devs and company.

2) Improve technical performance: focus on fixing legacy server issues (e.g., strange enemy and character behavior during collisions, as well as highly destructive and frustrating lags in challenging content like temples). Additionally, resolve engine-related problems, such as 0 FPS for top builds or poor CPU utilization in medium-density areas.

3) Refine endgame content: adjust and polish the endgame mechanics to make the overall experience more rewarding and engaging. One attempt at mapping is so disgusting because we're not playing Hardcore on Standard (though I do enjoy Hardcore sometimes, by the way). The existence of Atlas map hacking is also a controversial thing. These improvements could elevate the game significantly.

Otherwise, it risks remaining at the same level as Path of Exile 1.

Playing through three acts in early access is sufficient to get a sense of the game if you're really curious about experiencing it.

This game is high budget cinema on the same level as Dreamworks, Pixar and any other studios who made groundbreaking animation in the last six years. This game has the craziest art, music, scenario, game design choices for the entire genre of platformer games. This game has a unique perspective on mental health issues with recognizable humor from Double Fine studio (thank you, Tim Schaefer).

Absolute love and respect for devs, original backers of crowdfunding campaign and also publishers (Starbreeze Studios and Microsoft) who (all of them) helped deliver this project as a finished title!

Played it a lot in closed alpha.

I think this game is flawlessly good because it's MOBA and Battle Royale at the same time with good gameplay mechanics of Call of Duty Warzone / Apex Legends. Online matches are pretty fast (15-20 minutes), in-match progression is balanced and it’s all about pure gameplay.

Wishing devs all the best! This project have potential to be a banger!

UPD#1 Refund after 4 hours of gameplay. I don't wanna beta test it on a high-end machine. Poor technical state. I will be back after a long road of patches.

Original games were never played by me because my pc wasn't good enough to launch it at release date windows in 2007-2009. It just crashed after launching the exe file.

So yeah! Waiting for the second game is finally over! Glad to play it on my PC, the first game of this franchise!

Campaign is full of surprises (like it has never been a LINEAR shooter in a MILITARY setting before) and worth playing one hundred percent (I skipped Modern Warfare 2023 and never bought it fyi)! When they add Nine Inch Nails music you know they are cooking. Every further detail will be huge spoilers.

Mouse and keyboard finally feels like good input, because Aim-Assist on controllers is nerfed in close range - under 5 meters and your gamepad is DONE! Also the new movement system is designed to be played on mouse and keyboard and feels a bit clunky on console inputs.

I'm playing ninety percent of time in Hardcore mode and I feel like I never enjoyed multiplayer so much since I was a kid when Black Ops 1 was released.

Highly recommended if you want a good FPS blockbuster with polished gameplay mechanics and brilliant technical state (i remember the disaster launch of Modern Warfare 2022) with much content support in the future.
