While it was good back when it first came out, coming back the game is an awful mess. Broken AI that can pin point your location in an instant, zero point to having stealth with no mechanism on how to climb down without alerting guards, garbage checkpoint system that makes no sense & with no proper save system, pointless rewards, clunky movement system that takes forever to respond to actions. You may see the hours I have and wonder "If you hate it so much, why you playing it so much?", that is because I tried playing a pacifist run. And I discovered most of this through that play through.

Granted, this game is all about killing Nazis and Russian, however stealth is absolute garbage because the only mechanics around it are crouch and going prone, but these are barely viable as enemy can detect you a mile away and have way beyond a normal 180 degree vision. Along with the slow and janky movement that can feel like the system is going against you. A cover system that has your head sticking out 80% of the time, a character that gets stuck on small tiny objects and sometimes invisible objects. I mean, the list could go on and on. Throwing a rock to distract the npc, then eventually them coming exactly to the spot it was thrown from makes no sense??? Checkpoints can be random too sometimes and I could have a soft lock because as soon as it would load, I would be killed instantly. This wouldn't be a problem if I could load a past checkpoint or a save file. However in order to complete the mission, I have to restart from the beginning of the mission. The point is, don't buy this version or the remaster, as that is a fresh coat of paint on a barely functional car. I haven't played the other games in the series, but I do hope they are better than this old junk.

If you haven't played any of the Just Cause series, this is a decent start. If you have played the series before, this is a poor sequel.
-With lagginess/freeze frames that stop gameplay during the action
-Awful loading times, taking minutes to even do something
-Major repetitive gameplay that is even worse than past Just Cause games
-Boring landscapes that all look the same and hardly change much
-Terrible unlock system that is stuck behind "challenge missions" that are frustrating and annoying to complete
-Awful controls and vehicle handeling that makes if feel like they're randomzing your sensitively as you're playing
-Uninteresting missions and characters
Couple with the fact that the game is so poorly optimized that half the issues listed are due to this. I was looking sooooo forward to playing this game, but this heartbreaking; I fell in love with the series from the beginning and Just Cause 2 became an instant classic for me. What made JC2 so much fun, as the variety of locations and places that at least remove the mundane of constantly destroying things. Without that, it feels like insanity.
This is a dissapointing sequel that adds a few new features (wind-suit, boosters, customization, etc.) with a load of problems and issues. If you are interested playing this game, please buy it on sale as it should be only bought at it cheapest price.

IF JUST CAUSE 4 is out by now, BUY THAT GAME INSTEAD.

The first in the series to be on the PC and best time to jump into it as well. With better refined controls and actions, the gameplay is much easier to understand than the other games in the past. If you wanted to ever give Monster Hunter a shot, this game will definitely get you into the series

This is a classic and under rated game. With rogue elements such as perma death, upgrades, and with a spice of continously increasing difficulty. This is a bang, for your buck.

The spooky factor is about 1,000 spookies, more than the average daily dosage.
