Just the fact that you can build a road anywhere is so cool. The road crafting works alright, smoothing the sand base layer out is very challenging especially if you are making a long road, and the roller doesn't actually roll out bumps that are left from the base sand layer which is annoying. If the physics were more realistic I think this would be easier, but they realism is still impressive just not perfect. It is still satisfying to finish a road. I miss some things from Snowrunner: Manual gearbox, damage, fuel, advanced menu. I hope these are added, maybe as optional difficulty. I prefer Snowrunner's crane controls. The controls here are not bad, but not quite right. It really needs a toggle crane button instead of hold. Feels like this is right on the edge of something incredible, but it's sill very good. This was a fantastic demo and I am sure there will be a ton of creative, fun missions in the full game that I am looking forward to. The map and mission tracking system is absolutely fantastic and much improved.

I don't play singleplayer games much, but this is an exception. The grind is fun, map is surprisingly interesting and big, updates always add really neat and unique quality of life features and vehicles. Quite a bit to do, the grind is difficult but rewarding, just the right level. A TON of freedom in what you do too- winching, getting out of vehicles (even while fueling!), getting into NPCs vehicles, part upgrades. The physics are fun and satisfying too. Worth it if you like driving, exploring, grinding.

Edit: 66 hours in and there are still cool things I am enjoying grinding towards. New things I have just discovered, and a couple of game loops that I have barely gotten into yet. Truly so much content, every new update continues to deliver amazing content. One of my favorite games, and I haven't even tried multiplayer yet which I imagine is fantastic.

Well balanced, surprising amount of content for such an early game.

Best free game I've played in quite some time. It's basically Valheim.

Simple but good. Multiplayer highly recommended. Decent for full price, great if on sale.

Fun. I like the card system so that you have to be smart about what you build, but eventually you stock up a million wild cards and can build whatever you want, which isn't great. The buildings and their adjacency bonuses, upgrade card slots are cool, and the province tiles are a great idea. The tech and upgrade tree are cool too. Would definitely recommend for the current price.

Cons:
Normal mode feels a bit easy, and hard mode only increases consumption of everything. Would like to see some sort of natural disasters, making some winters more difficult and colder. The AI conflict is basic, not very fun or useful. Resource management does get intense in the mid game, but winters are not much of a challenge.

+ Ending made me happy.
+ The story was decent overall
- some parts felt unnecessarily drawn out. I could predict what would happen next in the story at times.
+ Much of the story is not predictable, solving predictable problems with the information you gather from different people is fun.
+ A second story unfolds across the sea in the city from phone calls that Kate receives, adding an interesting contrast between rural and city.
- These phone calls can seem forced and only happen at the perfect instants or just after cutscenes, removing some realistic spontaneity.
- At times problem-solving feels drawn out. For example, you may have an idea of how to get the thing you need but the game prevents you from doing that. Instead of directly solving the problem, you must first meet some characters and satisfy them. After those characters, you can suddenly for no apparent reason do what you tried to do before the long detour of talking to characters and trying to get them what they want. This makes the whole point of the detour seem a bit futile and stupid
+ BUT the characters that you meet are interesting. Watching their dreams come true feels great. So it serves some purpose in that you feel accomplished and think about people's motivations.
+ The atmosphere and design of the places and things are fantastic. Detail is present everywhere, resulting in a cohesive world that seems realistic.
+ Fantastic music: catchy, simple, fits the mood. You know you've done something right when the music starts playing.
- You will need patience. Transitioning between scenes takes time as the main character pauses or walks up a few stairs. Sometimes interacting with characters multiple times becomes annoying because you have to rewatch an animation of the character before talking to them.
- Some solutions to problems are not obvious enough unless you have played the game before or look up a walkthrough.
+ Dialogue and story events flow well and are connected if you use common sense and pursue what people tell you, but sometimes events will be a little out of order.

8/10 (9 +, 5 -)
A fascinating creation. Deep environment and interesting, entertaining characters with enough complexity to keep you anxious about what will happen next. This helps the game hold up to modern graphics of other games today. While things don't look great, the art style is very cohesive and creative, much more than many games today. The interesting and deep story helps also. A great game, but some parts feel forced or drawn out for little purpose rather than entertainment. If you have ~10 hours to relax and enjoy exploring compelling environments, adventuring, learning a lot about characters, mechanics, and solving problems, check it out.

An extremely simple game where everyone is on a level playing field no matter how much they've played, the only difference is skill. That makes for exciting competition as so much pressure is on your own ability to control the car and ball in the way that you want to. This game can be enraging, but also extremely satisfying when you pull of an amazing goal. While every game of Rocket League is at the core the same, these aspects make it enjoyable to keep playing, there are always unexpected twists introduced by others' skill. If that wasn't enough, the community is great, and watching the esports, such as RLCS and other tournaments, is exhilirating, there is nothing else quite like it.

Wow, this game is amazing. The attention to detail throughout the game never ceases to amaze me. The first thing I noticed was how many different car models they put in the game. From Cadilac, Dodge, Range Rover, and even more, it really makes the game more immersive and interesting. I could spend forever just looking around at all of the different buildings and landscapes, each with their unique look. I have played Euro Truck Simulator 2 for a good amount of time, and American Truck simulator is a great addition to the line up. The menus are very similar to ETS2, which isn't bad, and they are easy to use with plenty of options. The police cars and weigh stations are also a nice addition, I wish the police would actually pull you over though. This game is pretty much ETS2 but improved with new trucks, a few features and a new map. So, I have really enjoyed this game so far, and highly reccommend it for anyone who wants a relaxing game where they can spend hours driving across virtual America.

I would reccommend this game, I played it for around an hour on the free and it was fun. BUT: I really don't think its worth the pricetag. There is a dissapointingly small ammount of actual magic in the game, I find that most of the time I am just hacking people to bits with my swords/axe. It is a fun game, but the price isn't worth it, as it isn't that special or interesting after you have played for a while.
