There is way too much platforming. I am okay with some platforming but this is toooo much platforming. Not kidding. Too much platforming. It is just way too much. It is almost like Celeste but with combat.

I thought I'd like this because I enjoy heavy meta-progression roguelites. But the platforming is just too much for me it is like 70% platforming, 10% backtracking, 20% combat.

"Before launch, Dragon's Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno went out of his way to talk about the game's lack of easy fast-travel, or even mechanics like horseback mounts to speed up journeys: “It's only an issue because your game is boring. All you have to do is make travel fun."

Guess what? DD2 is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring and a badly optimised trash game.

Reviews prior to release were positive because majority of the good stuff are all front loaded. The mid to later parts of the game is so boring and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that I couldn't even play it without modding in fast travel and unlimited stamina while travelling out of combat.

This game is just trash which shouldn't have been. DD:DA is awesome and Istuno went made this game worst in every single way compared to DD:DA.

Inb4 you say DD was also bad and it only got good after DA expansion. ♥♥♥♥ off, a game released in 2024 should be vastly superior and improved upon it's previous installments. Instead, ♥♥♥♥ were stripped and removed. This is same people saying it's fine because D2 was bad and only got good after D2: LoD. D3 is bad and only got good after D3: RoS. There's no excuse for this. Even if DD2 get an expansion that fixes all it's core issue with the game, I ain't buying it.

This game along with Wolong is my biggest gaming regret pre-order of 2024. Should have bought Black Myth Wukong instead. Can't believe I waited 10 years for this trash of a game.

Terrible game if you dislike puzzles, only get this on a deep discount.

Game is overrated. Puzzles after puzzles after puzzles. I usually don't mind some light puzzles but this game is chock full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ puzzles. I was ok with puzzles at the start but then more and more at every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point to progress the game and the puzzles also get increasingly more tedious. It is not difficult, it is simply tedious work. At some points in the game messing up a puzzle means you have to reload the game. Some puzzles at later stage even requires PRECISE motion control which is a challenge in VR due to the instability of controller tracking.

Not to mention getting stuck at multiple points in the game trying to figure out where exactly you should be headed. Spend 15 minutes going back and forth wondering WTH did I just missed until I had to look up an online walkthrough to get past certain zones? Or have the path to progress to the next zone hidden away from your line of sight that you can only see if you crouch.

1) You need to disable "Memory Integrity" in your windows settings to even launch this game
2) Boring Battle Royale game
3) User interface look like a mobile game

The only good thing is the movement system and cosmetics (paid) that look nice.

I have 'tried' this game when it was withheld by EGS for a year. Decided that I enjoyed it so much I'll wait for Steam release.

Personally, I enjoy SoP more than Wo Long and Nioh 2.

Maybe I like the Final Fantasy theme and straight-forward linear approach to level design.

In Nioh games and Wo Long, I can spend hours looking for that 1 Kodama I missed, that 1 marking flag hidden somewhere for that 1 morale boost or that path to the next area hidden somewhere.

All Team Ninja games have great combat. But for me at least, Strangers of Paradise takes the cake. Love the Final Fantasy monster designs, the jobs, the skills, the campy story.

I have no reliable friend to finish this game with.

The game should have given you an option to play it alone with an AI who can also voice chat with you.

Puzzles, Platforming, Puzzles, Platforming, Backtracking, Platforming.

Nice graphics, nice music, boring combat.

This game does not deserve the "Souls-like" tag.
