THIS is the game that made me register on Steam, way back in 2010
Although, back then I didn't really like it, because tbh, 3rd season of Sam & Max was clearly rushed
Weird lighting, broken animations, bugs, cut content, poor optimisation and so on and so forth
Also, being a teen and a fan of first two seasons, I liked some of the more mature theming of tDPH's story, but not all of it

"no S&M OFFICE, are you serious..????"
-13 y.o. me

And only with time it really grew on me and now I see it as one of my favourite games and maybe best Point-and-Click game of all time..?

This time gag-machine of S&M is tightly entangled in a very interesting plot, themes of episodes are great and use a bunch of cool narrative mechanics and genre cliches in interesting ways. And gags are great again! Some of my favourite ones from whole franchise are here (wedding ring jingle lives in my head rent free)!

And what a shame it was that whole season stuck in that weird state for ages. And then... Skunkape came. And finally, from 14th of August, 2024, Devil's Playhouse is not broken anymore, like it was for more than half of my life. THANK YOU!
"43162" is a secret number you might need in your new journey (Thanks, SuperMarioFan Studios for finding it!)

P.S. After completing. Idc what anyone says, it is the best point-and-click adventure game ever made! Dream came true, holy hell

P.P.S. My GOTY

Try this game if you want your Outer Wilds itch scratched!
Nice story, interesting design quirks, lots of endings, beautiful and mysterious Mars, all in front of you!
BUY IT!!!

(also, the Russian translation is on another level of goodness, I wonder who made it...)

Good, fun, but lazy and/or unfinished
- The UI is basically empty, after every level all you get is black screen with some text.
- There's no instant replay button.
- Game stutters a lot for some reason which sometimes results in cheap hits. And there's almost no settings.
- Scoring is weird too: you can get 5-stars on first 25 or so levels easily, but after that it just feels random. Some levels are extremely difficult to 5-star, some are not. So after a while I've just started 3-starring all of the levels.
I also don't understand why it's called "Remastered" while originals look, play and feel very differently.

Still, the game is a fun arcade and I liked my time with it. It is flashy and beautiful, the music is great, controls are great and most levels feel good to complete. If only Steam had the mixed review button...

The idea is interesting, the translation is awful, which is very funny but it's a game about ROLLING A DICE and DICE DOES NOT ROLL lol.
I've tried doing a lot of default stuff you do when something doesn't work and nothing helped: I always get softlocked after every dice roll.
A shame really, game looks very promising :(

Early Access Review
Great hidden gem. I always was interested in bullet hells but most of them have too much going on even beside "evading thousands bullets at once" thing.
Here though, you press 1 button to change direction while your character runs in circles - that's it! So it's a perfect entry point for the genre. Everything else is also great: the setting, the graphics, the music! The visual clarity is good, there's lots of compatibility options and even a few community mods!

Only problem I have is some weird randomness: sometimes the moment you get familiar with the stage the camera position shifts and you spend a few more lives trying to get through, but sometimes it helps. And particle effects rarely can block your vision and give you some cheap deaths.

Try it out! 48 reviews is too low for a great game like this!!!

LEGIE is definetly an interesting and unforgettable experience which I find very funny despite it's grim atmosphere. The medieval times were rough and dirty and the game takes full advantage of that. I love the atmosphere: everything and everyone is ugly and dying or will be dying soon because life sucks and our protagonist have to find the solution to all the problems: a barrel of beer. And it turns out that it is easier to find literal gold in this area, than beer.

A unique mix of point-and-click and dungeon crawler (with a little bit of survival elements) is an interesting combination that gets boring after a while because dungeons are very look-alike. But what really can drive you nuts is puzzles. I can't be too mad on the game for it though, because they make some sense and for MOST of them there're hints you can understand without a guide (achievements help a lot too, especially with mechanics that game don't explain to you at all). And some of them lead to interesting scenes. There's also trolling: you can softlock yourself a few times just because you don't know you need that gold coin or because you can't read signs, which is an interesting design desicion to say the least.

I think going through all of the slog worth it because of the ending. Some things get into perspective after it which is cool and the ending itself is what you probably don't expect in a good way. Overall, a good project that I totally won't forget any time soon.

Master class in minimalistic game design, buuuut a kind of forgettable game..?

A few weeks passed since I've completed Automaton Lung and I don't remember much of it now. But what I do remember is constantly present feeling of the desire to explore while playing. What mysteries does this weird and dream-like world posess? Will I learn anything about anything? Let's find out!

So the strong point of Automaton Lung is it's puzzle-y nature. If you want to collect something you need to figure out how to do it first. You have a gun, a jetpack (kinda) and hoverboard. Every one of these tools have several uses and hidden mechanics which you need to figure out. The atmosphere here is cool, some enemies are fine, some are annoying, the shooting is fine, some rooms with chips in them are basic, some are frustrating, but most of them are clever and intricantly designed so it's always fun to find secret chips and weapons.

The game is too mimimalistic story-wise in my opinion and that's why I forgot about it right after I've finished it. Your only motivation to do anything is driven by gameplay and sense of wonder but it ultimately leads to very open to interpretation narrative. The ending and locales give you some directions for what to think about all this, but it's not enough to get anything out of it really. Does it need to mean something? No, but it would be even more transcendent if it did which is always welcomed.

Still a very interesting, mysterious and sexy experience and a good puzzle-platformer-adventure-shooter thing for anyone who got tired of basic gameplay loops

A shining example of how story mode can make any game better!

I'm not JUST doing nonograms, I'm helping Khimera solve the wacky mysteries of Puzzle Island! And we befriend colorful charachters along the way! Very charming and neat experience for everyone who enjoys puzzles.
