it's a classic, fun, tower-defence game. Can't go wrong.

One of the first games I had ever played and it's a certified banger. Love it!

Also works well in Linux via Proton but it will be buggy unless you replace the SDL2.dll so get a copy from any other game like Quake first or online somewhere to play on Vulkan without weird bugs.

I play like a complete noob. Run around, collect everything, no idea what's optimal or meta, but it's fun.

Run around, shoot a bunch of weird aliens, unlock/play new classes, die, rinse, repeat.

I play solo but looks like it will be easier with friends, plays on Linux via Proton well too.

This has to be one of the best games I've played. It's definitely one of my favourites of all time, which I didn't expect. This is probably how Michael Scott thinks he does parkour.

Note: This game also runs great on Linux via Proton.

Gameplay:
Incredibly creative and Invigorating

This game draws from various genres, it plays as a speedrunning action-platformer game with puzzle, mystery and adventure elements, with visual-novel style dialogue.

You basically speedrun a bunch of levels, the faster you complete the level, the higher the medal you get and can unlock extra challenges and easter eggs.

The game has a variety of weapons, which are picked up as cards, and they can be 'spent' to be used for extra types of movements or attacking movements. For example, the pistol can be spent as a double jump, the assault rifle as a grenade, the noscope sniper as a forward dash, the shotgun as a similar fireball dash but in any direction, the SMG stomps enemies and the rocketlauncher as a grappling hook - but it can also be used to safely rocket jump!

There are also other cards in special levels, like the Soul Card that instantly releports you to the enemy and kills it while having unlimited ammo. And of course there's your melee katana and fists.

The enemies are varied, from simple demon minions that shoot/spray at you, to flamethrower demons or those that can be used as a jumping balloon or as a speed boost. They're not intelligent or advanced AI, they just stand there shooting in simple patterns but they exist as obstacles to be used creatively for movements.

Soundtrack/Audio
Top tier

If you don't realise it, this game is fast-paced and the soundtrack lets you know of that straight away. The soundtrack is actually produced by Machine Girl, and it's a simultaneously atmospheric, ambient and thumping reminder that you have to move fast! It's kind of an alternating mix between breakcore and drum and bass.

But the dialogue scenes can be calmer and showcase the ambience of the setting. It's very well done, and this is one of those games where I have the OST on my playlist because every song is incredibly exhilarating suitable for a range of moods.

Graphics
Does the job!

The graphics aren't next-gen but they get the job done, and I actually found a lot of the levels very pretty no matter the setting. I felt like exploring everywhere and some of the views are just immaculate.

The characters look nice, I couldn't describe their style but it's a mix of 'edgy cool' in a anime-inspired western tradition, but then again I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Story/Characters
: A little silly but they roped me in and knew when to be serious

Finally, we have the story and the characters. You play as a dead assassin that's been called to heaven to help deal with the demon assaults. You are called with a bunch of other "Neons" fighting for one ultimate prize, but obviously things get spicy, although I won't spoil anything.

The characters are relatively simple, and the dialogue can be pretty cringey but I think it's intentional, and once you accept the silliness, i found myself enjoying the company of the gang and learning about them. There's also memories to unlock after you finish the main game, as well as 2 endings depending on your choice (don't worry - you can easily replay the final level after unlocking the 2nd ending).

The themes of this game focus on loss, friendship, letting go, morality and forgiveness.

TL;DR
- Definitely consider a buy or at least grab it on sale

Definitely a 9 or 10/10 for me.

This game also has high replayability, and the achievements are well designed and fun to unlock, while being challenging. You might have to get some help though online for some levels, as some of the gift locations and shortcuts are pretty difficult to find yourself between the middle and final acts. Although I definitely enjoyed the treasure hunt, as well as slowly improving my route times and experimenting with shortcuts.

Cute demons, pretty fun (and hard) puzzles and a pumping soundtrack, all for the low price of $0.

Story: You're totally here for the plot (but it's nice fr)

There's not an incredible amount of story, but some decent dialogue that showcases each demon's personality. You're basically some chad in hell trying to form a demon girl harem. Except not only can the puzzles kill you, but the girls might too.

There's some dialogue options that decide how the level ends (e.g. a death ending or continue) but nothing much changes. There's a few Easter eggs too.

The girls are sinful but I can fix them.

Difficulty: A sharp mountain peak, but a little lower than Mt Everest

The puzzles scale in difficulty pretty quick given the short game and require some intense thought later. The boss fights are very hard but fun, and there's a rhythm component in some moments which you might either love or hate.

Gameplay: Fried my neurons more than any substance could (and with the same lovely addiction!)

Most of the puzzles revolve around saving a unique demon girl, you have a limited number of steps you can take, so you have to save them before the move counter hits 0, but you have unlimited time to think. You can also skip any puzzle to move on.

Usually you have to kick some blocks around, or dodge/tank some hazards that take up extra moves, then save the girl at the end and start the dialogue. You may also get advice (with some unique writing) on every level from your demon harem.

Soundtrack: Slaps booty

All this while a sick trance/house-style soundtrack plays and you save hot demon girls and build your harem. It made the experience more exhilarating and sets the cheeky atmosphere - like you're in a nightclub in hell.

Makes you wanna stand in one spot, bob your head and pump your hand up while you grind with da homies shirtless on a roll.

Art: Can confirm the demon girls are hot

Not much to say, the art style is pretty cute. Every demon has a unique design, the gameplay graphics are simple but easy to distinguish and appealing. It only gets a bit confusing in the final boss fight (in the extra levels) where so much is happening at once - expect to die plenty of times!

Performance: Runs as well as I ran away from my kids

Also, runs beautifully on Linux (expected for this type of game, for any PC) with a native build. Max res for me was 2560x1440 wide rather than 3440x1440 ultra-wide but I didn't notice any problems on full-screen.

Haven't noticed any bugs in my entire playthrough, nor any FPS drops. Stable 60+ minimum fps on 1440p UWQHD with a decade-old GTX 980 which is still pretty overkill for a game like this.

10/10 must download if you like puzzles (and crazy demon chicks)

This game is amazing, just as fun as I remember it being.

Pros:
(unless you lack the funds why are you even hesitating on this purchase?)
  • Exhilarating soundtrack & sound design.
  • Co-op mode!
  • Distinctive visuals & designs that still hold up well. But also upgraded now!
  • Amazing and unique weapons that other shooters struggle to match. My favourite is the railgun, but every single weapon slaps and is fun to use depending on the situation!
  • The difficulty is just right on Hard+/Nightmare, I could've even gone a bit harder
  • Enemies are unique & varied, and both look and sound cool.
  • The world is dark and gritty. The Strogg are also an interesting and diverse race/enemy.
  • Lots of secrets and great level design on most levels.
  • Updated balancing changes & upgraded AI, with support for AI bots in multiplayer!
  • Pickups that offer just enough help, whether it's quad damage, damage immunity, silencer or the "floor is lava but my little sibling isn't looking" suit.
  • Constant tricks being played on you like enemies that have been waiting in walls their whole lives just to scare the crap out of you, low gravity areas, scary af taunts/voices etc.
  • Also includes the expansion packs, and a new free campaign! Plus previously exclusive content, and restored content!
  • Includes cross-platform multiplayer (and local split-screen!)
  • FREE for people that already the original added on Steam. Otherwise a good steal for a couple buckaroos on sale!
  • Behind-the-scenes goodies like concept art included
  • Works great on Linux!
  • Runs smooth as butter!
  • Solid amount of game time
  • Support for higher resolutions & widescreens and plenty of extra settings

Cons:
  • Would've been nice if id software transferred my consciousness into a cyborg that needs little food and doesn't need to poop, and maybe if they added a gazillion more campaigns so it wouldn't have to end :(
  • On a serious note, achievements have been buggy/not working well for me, at least on Linux with Proton.
  • I can't join lobbies for some reason, but that part of the game is now relying on Bethesda, so duh!
  • Old mods don't seem to work yet but makes sense since it's 64 bit now, so we may have to be patient. Totally understandable though.

    Still, a great game!

This is a typing game where enemies appear and you have to type words to destroy them before they reach your character, while you explore the world and collect fragments and chests. You can also unlock powers, that you can switch between on the fly (and upgrade them too). The powers are:

  • Fire = Burns the next word above that enemies head (good when enemy had multiple words)
  • Ice = Freezes the enemy when you type their word (my favourite)
  • Spark = Has a chance to spread destroying word from other nearby enemies (think chain lightning, good against swarms)
  • Wind = Pushes enemies back in a line (similar to ice, doesn't freeze but instead pushes enemies away - including nearby enemies!)

It was super fun, it also has an arena mode if you cbf exploring/playing the story or levels and just want the main gameplay mechanic. The game is quite hard, so if you're not a fast typist you will struggle on a lot of the "nests" (basically the optional wave/boss-rushes throughout the world) however you'll still enjoy it and the practice. The achievements can be quite difficult, you not only need to be a fast at typing, but type tens of thousands of words and including some where you can't make a mistake for like 1000 words (took me the longest!). I managed to unlock them all this week but I know a lot will struggle, tho it's optional!

The only negative for me, was that it's so easy to get lost and lose track of which chest or nest you are missing to get the achievement. So if you don't do everything until the end you will have to go back in each level, open a guide with a map of every level and back-track the whole game lol thankfully I only had to do this for 2 levels!

All in all, decent game if you're into this genre, it was pricey for me so I got in during a sale instead which I felt was more reasonable.

EDIT: Also, this game works great on Linux. Only possible issue I had was one mod didn't work, but I was only testing something and it could've just been the mod.

It's a simple, but fun little game, maps are great and plenty of custom workshop maps to have fun alone or with your friends.
