Taking place a year after the events in the first Prototype, Prototype 2 is gritty, bloody story about revenge. You play as James Heller, a soldier in the military, freshly made infected by the main character of the last game, Alex Mercer. He has given you the power to get revenge for your wife and daughter, who died because of what is known as the Mercer Virus, supposedly released by Blackwatch (the acting military force in the New York (or what's left of it). As the game progresses, while the missions you do may change, revenge remains your motive, and anything that stands in your way will be killed, blown up, or consumed.
