My grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother told him that if he ever wanted to see his grandchildren grow up and graduate, you have to stop immediately. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what was at stake, he gave up smoking immidiately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was realy sad and it destroyed me. My mother said to me- "Don't ever smoke, please don't put your family through what your grandfather put ous through" I agreed. At 20,I have never toutched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this game gave me cancer anyway.

After the game got fixed, the devs more devoted I'd say this is by far one of the better zombie survival games out there.
Like many games it has it's pros and cons, but for being a early access game it's pretty damn good.
If I compare this game to the other top selling zombie game - DayZ standalone, H1Z1 wins by far, both when it comes to gameplay, options and overall quality.

To make this review more simple to read, I'll put pros and cons to it.

Pros:

Regular updates - new game mechanics, features and fixes

Diffrent types of modes - If you are a true survivalist you can play in the hardcore, only first person view servers. If you do not like the pvp aspect you can join a pve server. If you just like the ordinary pvp survival, you can join the normal servers.

Battle royale - One of the better things about this game, and the reason why many people buy it is Battle royale. Most people know the princip: Last man standing.
What makes H1Z1's Battle Royale so good is the diffrent types they have; 5 man team, 2 man team, solo, zombies (like solo but with zombies as well), and the new addition, green dawn.

Edit* Battle royale was transferred to H1Z1: King of the kill, as a part of a game split.

Smooth gameplay - The controls are simple and you get the hang of the game pretty quick

The Anti hack system - Just a few days ago Daybreak released the new anti hack system; Battle Eye, and I must say, I'm realy impressed. It's efficent and it works.


Cons:

Building mechanics - All to often I see the most common exploit people use, blocking. For some reason, you can build in the entrances of buildings, even if the shack (type of house) you put down goes through the walls. This is used to block certain buildings and get total control of that building. Needs to be fixed.

Edit* There are now servers that have restriced building acessm meaning you cannot build close to houses and inside towns.

The major clans/groups - The high pop servers are often ruled by 1 or more clans. They often are allies with eatchother and makes it nearly impossible to play. There is no limit to how many foundations, shacks etc you put down and it makes it close to impossible to start of as a new spawn in this game.

Poor server quality - Daybreaks servers are by far one of the worst I've seen. 1 person managed to DDoS them and take down their game servers for ALL their games. I've seen free2play games manage more then Daybreaks servers can.


Why do I recomend the game?
Even though it has its cons, the pros weighs over and makes this game worth the price. It has brought me alot of fun, and I've meet alot of new friends.

You can kill people with a dildo.... What more is there to say?

A really lovely game. Started playing it about 2 years ago (I do not play through steam until yesterday) and I can say that it gives me alot of joy to play. I highly recomend it!
