The very first game in the legendary series of Japanese ARPGs, play as Adol and bump and tear a bloody path through the local, mist-locked island's monsters as you help the locals survive and uncover the mystery keeping them trapped here. This version of the game comes with multiple graphics and music modes, letting you experience the game in widescreen comfort and a modernized soundtrack or in its not-quite-4:3 original format with tunes closer to the source material.

One-quarter Silent Hill, three-quarters its own, unique thing graphically straight out of the days of 3D-accelerated MS-DOS games, SIGNALIS casts you as an ever-determined, ever-improvisational ESTER unit as she ventures through a neo-Communist work site in a desperate search for her lover and pilot. Straightforward enough, except something wrong has corrupted the workers and staff, turning them into crazed killers with a variety of powers which will keep you on your toes. And you're going to have to fight, survive, and puzzle your way down (and up?) and through the source of all this madness if you want to see your beloved again.

Received for free as part of an assignment for PCGamingWiki.

Oxenfree, but grown up. Play as Riley, an adult with her own, troubled past, as she gets thrust into what should've been a solved supernatural mystery. Can she and her unlikely companions finally solve this thing before it engulfs not just Edwards Island, but the whole county?

A mentally-unwell Russian girl just got back from getting a bag of milk, which was a disturbing, minimalist nightmare for her, and is thrust into another disturbing, minimalist nightmare...with a dash of whimsy just because. You are her medication given voice, and it's up to you to help her through the night. She's as used to this madness as anyone in her position can be. You are most likely not.

Enjoy the ride.

The Cycles of Guilt await you and up to 64 of your friends - no, that is not a typo. Fight through literal armies of mortal and supernatural forces with an eclectic set of weapons, ranging from Fuller Auto (tm)-equipped pistols to god-killing handcannons and everything in-between, talk things out with your targets...or just kill them...augment yourself to the point where you become Robo-Psychic Superman....

Yeah, this game is a trip. But you don't need to be on one to enjoy it.

There are plenty of moddable 2D sandbox space sims with story-driven progression out there. None, however, focus on turning you from a humble starship captain into the leader of Space Diamond Dogs as you pick your side in an intergalactic civil war. Each of the individual ships in your personal navy, ranging from capital ships to humble fighters all are just as customizable as your already-very-customizable ship. Slap nuclear-powered propulsion units onto a fighter? Go ahead. Turn a capitol ship into a giant EMP barge? Sure. Make a cargo vessel into a formidable boarding ship? Go nuts.

It's dark, you can barely see, and your viewing options are terrible. Conquer your fear of the dark and rip and tear every strange organic monstrosity which comes your way in this arena wave survival game. Turn your humble pistol, among a variety of unique, unlockable melee and ranged weapons, into a beast which can one-shot hordes of enemies with a cascade of bullets and elemental fury, and improve your viewing options so you can not only see more around you, but even make your light harm your enemies. Even with all that firepower, though, the monsters will keep up with you, coming back more, stronger, and stranger...

Plus, should you clear the boss at the 20-minute mark, you'll even get a whole new level with even more horrors.

A short, darkly-humorous dungeon crawl into the hidden spaces beneath all government buildings. How much of it is real doesn't matter - what matters is you are a lovably-deranged woman with a special homemade helmet and hammer, and you're gonna get to the bottom (literal and metaphorical) of all of this.
