I played this between my Steam Deck and Desktop to 100%.

Gameplay loops between Setup and Combat. A lot more to the setup side of things than Firaxis usually did with X-Com, similar to Persona 5 or Fire Emblem Three Houses.

Combat plays great, kinda hard to describe. Genre wise it's a Deckbuilder Tactics Game, sorta like a weird hybrid of Slay The Spire and X-Com. Mechanically unique and interesting. The vibe of the game is not unlike that found in JRPGS, especially with the way the story and progression is handled.

Setup involves third person exploration, training and improving your relationships with the cast.

Difficulty feels great. Harder difficulties were offered as you get further into the game. Coming from other card games at a top level (Slay the Spire, Runeterra, Hearthstone, Marvel Snap), I felt the challenge was always appropriate, taking the harder difficulty whenevered offered. For a single player card game, its actually really refreshing.

I'd rate it as highly as Persona 5 Royal, weighing more on the combat, but taking a hit in its story.

The story isn't terrible, it has a lot of cool moments for sure. If you enjoy Marvel films, you'll be fine here.

I personally did not experience any crashes, having played this game rather late in its lifetime.

++ Fully Voiced! OG Actors too! (insomniac Spider-Man, Nico shares the same actor as the show)
++ Enormous and Diverse Cast
++ Combat gameplay is fantastic and unique.
+ Scaling difficulty balance
+ Great Steam Deck Game (combat had solid performance. Controller Controls are good)
+ Blade
= Comic Book Writing
- Combat voice lines get old unfortunately (crazy amount everywhere else)
- Slow animations
- Card Balance could be better (mostly fine, reinforcement could be better though)
-- Exploration can be a slog. (optional thankfully, unless 100%)
-- Setup is awful to deal with post game.
--- Denuvo

100% is time consuming rather than difficult.

I had to do a full playthrough and a half to achieve it.

I'd only recommend getting the Legendary Edition of this game on discount over any other version of the game.
Price kinda gets rough buying the DLC later otherwise.

Had a better time listening to heavy metal and rock on my second playthrough, matching the music of the marketing.

When it comes to conversation choices, I'd recommend ignoring the light / dark alignment and just choosing the text that makes the most sense. Unless you're going for the full light or dark achievements.

Light Spoilers Below

DLC Campaign Missions have a focus on Blade + DLC Characters. The OC will take a backseat for Blade at times, so build appropriately.

I regret grinding prior to the final mission, the games difficulty only scales further after beating the game.
