A bigger, bolder version of Bioshock, but one that misses some of the finer finesse that the original had.

Things like atmosphere and a sence of presence to why you are in Rapture in the first place.

Still by all means this is a masterpiece game and everyone should play this. Audio, gameplay and the technical side are all 10/10.

(And yes, there is even a mod that fixes all crashing now. I'm 9 hours into the game, with 0 crashes)

You are making the right choice. I'm also reading the book at the moment which is a prequel to the games, hehe

i should replay 1 and 2 at one point so I guess I'll do it with the remasters.

From my point of view it's a lot better: there is native ultrawide support.

The remaster does come with less mods (most were made for the original) but it does have an essential HD texture pack mod and the crash fixer mod I mentioned.

Yeah I'd say the remaster is well worth it over the original now.
