Its just boring. Everything takes a long time and its basically an incremental game. The things you put down make tiny changes, but essentially, one lvl 1 heater, 1 lvl 1 plant, etc and letting the game just idle in the background for 1000 hours will net the same result as building up any further. There isn't really a quest line to follow, just terraform the planet and some cryptic writings in shipwrecks. It may be more fun with friends, but is rather dry overall. I don't foresee any upgrades that will greatly improve my impressions, so I"m just trying to get through a single planet and be done with it.

This Rogue city builder game is not for everyone. Its not for people that like to set up sprawling cities with infrastructures that are closely managed. Its not for people that like to see progress for all their hard work displayed in front of them at all times. Its a frantic game of luck and choices. Managing your people, materials, and forest hostility is a constantly changing, strategic battle. Each compound material can be made in multiple buildings, with various ingredients of differing amounts, and varied times or outputs. Sometimes you have leather, sometimes you have plant fiber, sometimes you don't have either, but there are fishing ponds around with algae. You have to decide which ingredients are being used for which products.
You don't start with much of anything unlocked each city, but get 3 random unlocks from all available buildings, plus a cornerstone, which is a random buff at the beginning of each year. These bonuses are the only things you have other than base buildings and biome characteristics that are available. Sometimes you cant get a food building unlocked and have to forage or start opening hidden areas called glades right away in a desperate attempt to locate something edible. Most basic things are built from wood, which is in every biome, but getting higher components is tricky sometimes.

Pretty interesting, though pretty easy, tower building game. The survival loop is simple to master, and there is never any real danger from the fog at this point in EA. There are increasingly difficult fights to engage in, which do get pretty difficult, and could cause deaths, and keeping an eye on your stocks early on is key. Excited to raise a dragon and decimate foes with new ultimate abilities when they are added.

Love this game. Like Rimworld and Endzone had a baby. I am almost finished with my maiden run without looking up any information externally. The only issue that I've personally run into is when playing on the steam deck. For some reason, even though its steam deck verified, it doesn't have any controls mapped to the default controller..why would that be, if its supposedly working fine for xbox controller? There is a user created one that works just fine, and I'm proud owner of a steam controller from years ago, so I have experience programming my own keyboard controls, its just a bit odd I thought.

Lots of fun with all the charm of Two Point series. Not insanely challenging, but putting together the schools however you choose is a blast, with class requirements, student and faculty needs, as well as additional furniture you can purchase with "kudosh" you earn while accomplishing in game achievements

Cute but deep colony simulator allows transport between islands/planets and space exploration. Havent finished a campaign yet, but the main mechanics are very satisfying.

Fun game. The levels get increasingly hard to complete until about 28, then the last two are simple. Adventure mode could be harder and longer, and have some sort of story, but can't be picky :D

Discount fantasy Rimworld mixed with Terraria. Not as many options with colonists/raiders, but generally build a town, recruit colonists to do chores, set recipes at stations, storage with filters, etc.

Starter colonist, Pug, gets shot in the chest during a raid obliterating his lung. I capture one of the would be raiders and force her into my prison where i talk her onto my side. Instead of converting her, though, i show up with surprise anesthesia and force her into a coma. I set to work immediately, tearing at her chest for that sweet sweet flesh-balloon. The surgery is a success, the lung was successfully harvested from our prisoner, now to celebrate with a little smokeleaf. After getting stoned on our supply, Levin the medic reassures Pug that everything will be ok as the anesthesia kicks in. With steady hands, Levin goes to work, swiftly and cleanly installing the newly harvested organ into his friend. Then we wait......

The surgery is a success and now Pug can breathe again. The prisoner is released, lowering the hatred from her tribe.

You can do this and so much more! What a fantastic storyteller game :D

Amazing DND based Isometric RPG from my younger years, revitalized for modern systems. Community made modules are available as well as the toolset to create your own modules, equipment, etc. Much easier to connect to friends than the original.
