cute, humorous, and excellent combat. story's pretty nice. your kind of game if you enjoy whimsy + micromanaging team setups before every section/boss fight. some boss fights can be a slog (the final final one...) but i had an incredible time overall!

Short and sweet, was able to 100% it in 5 hours! The atmosphere is bleak, sounds such as teeth biting into the cans are visceral, and I enjoyed the little touch of the camera focuses on the landmarks. There is a bug that softlocks you where you are able to whistle into Building 1 without having prior questions, so you stay trapped in there. The game is so short that reloading to last checkpoint shouldn't be a problem, but it's worth taking note of.

Gorgeous game with a compelling story about truth, the importance of stories and the past. I enjoyed the little touches such as the different fonts, ink splatters for yelling, and the bigger ones- the gorgeous scenes of Andreas' dreams, his conversation with Sister Illuminata, etc.

Act 1 was solid, but the game really peaked in Act 2. I enjoyed seeing how the protagonist changed, and the stakes and tension really rose. I can't help but be disappointed by Act 3. Without getting into too many details, there were multiple occasions were it seemed as if the protagonist would be roped into an event or have a continuing thread which ended up going nowhere or not beginning at all. While these were not vital to the plot, I feel that Magdalene would have benefited from these little events to help distinguish her from Andreas as a local. Without it, it felt like she too was an outsider artist commissioned to work the mural despite being born and raised in Tassing. The game also suffers from pacing issues that really bogged down the beginning and middle of Act 3.

Despite these, I still wholeheartedly recommend this game. It's got heart, history, and a Big Head Mode. What's not to love?

time to read the book to get this feeling of emptiness out of my body !!!!

seriously, that was a phenomenal experience. beautiful art, beautiful score and very expressive voice acting. i'd say that book 3 felt rushed and it was sort of just jerking you around here and there considering the amount of material it had to cover, but overall the whole thing was amazing. i'm going to miss this big cast of characters, especially philip.

this game was an adventure. a house of many doors' writing is witty, hard-hitting, but also eloquent and charming, making use of this skill to create a vivid picture of its interesting and varied lore. i enjoyed doing all its quest lines- though a word of complaint is that their impacts seem to be short-lived (though that's perhaps an inevitable consequence of the game's format?). i sorely wish there were more interactions w companions bc i thoroughly enjoyed doing their quests and talking to them! (my personal favorites were cromlech, char, gladys, bishop and nicholas <3) and ofc, there's the tedium of crawling along the rooms, but that's easily remedied by hauling ass to ghoulwatch and stocking up on mirrors.

this is a game of different choices and outcomes, and though i've sunk 60 hours enjoying much of what a house of many doors has to offer, the tediousness of how it plays sort of does discourage me to put in another 60 for a different playthrough. but i highly recommended playing through it at least once for the experience!

Played it, loved it.
So yes, where do I begin? This is probably the most teamwork-oriented game I'll ever play. Not even Team Fortress 2 can compare to the importance of teamwork in a game like this. I can't stress enough that spelunking alone will get you killed.

Gameplay in general? It's alright. I'm no professional critic, but I can say it's simple enough to understand. Shoot zombies, get inside safehouses, try not to die.

Oh and I love the voice talents. So many lines for performing a single action, like apologizing, getting saved, and even looking at safehouse graffiti.

Good game.
