I can see potential in this game. As a avid MMORPG fan, being able to create a MMO and play within it seems like a really cool idea. Good luck with the launch!

I enjoy the demo. My first experience with FMV and it was a pleasant one. I like most of the acting scenes. It is good to be able to easily trace back through UI and explore other options. It took 1 hour to fully explore the demo chapter. Whether or not the full product worth the price I guess depends on how many chapters this game has.

As of today (Jan'25), of all the map expansions for both ETS2 and ATS, Greece DLC is by far the best and the most valued for money.

  • Majority of cities are breathtakingly beautiful. Especially those in the islands.
  • The roads are very interesting. Windy. Hilly. Narrow. Parked cars by the side. Very exiting at times.
  • Some parking scenarios are pretty difficult. But rewarding (alongside some of the most stunning scenery). I am looking at you, Hotel Artemia.
  • If you participant for the Cruising Greece event, it is a good 10 hours of trucking through all the cities in Greece (and beyond). If you care about Steam achievements, you can add another 10 hours of trucking. Compared that to the American's Arkansas map expansion. Same price. But you can get through all the cities in Arkansas in 4 hours. Greece DLC is definitely valued for money (or you could say Arkansas DLC is overpriced by 2.5 times).
  • Steam achievements for Greece DLC are mostly enjoyable.
  • Amazing realism. Little things like for the same cut scene, the cats are missing due to rainy weather. Wow.

If you wish to see what Greece DLC offers and don't mind the spoiler, here is an edited video of all the cut scenes and viewpoints and the interesting bits in between.

Updated after close to 40 hours with this class, doing end-game challenges.

I can be biased. As someone who has spent 800+ hrs playing this game at the time of writing and someone who has spent thousands of hours playing aRPG, Hierophant is one unique class that is very different from what I have played in the past. Hierophant at the surface looks like a very in-depth "pet" class. But it is more like controlling a squad of Inquisitors in real time! You can issue different types of commands, from offense to defense to even self-sacrifice among others. Each retinue member comes with his or her own skill tree and gear set.

You would find leveling journey pleasant, especially if you start with the campaigns. However, retinue members due to limited gear slots without forging (or socket) option, defensive stats tend to fall behind. While there are mitigation through retinue member's skill trees such as extra HP, suppression, and life drain as well as your class's passive trees, they tend to get melted pretty easily when the mission has higher damage modifier (through Tarot cards). Often then not, when it matters (i.e., against mission objectives), I have to solo the targets. Reviving retinue members takes time unlike the more disposable approach of pet summoning as Tech-priest.

When I think of what are missing in this new class, I think of two things. First, I miss the Tech-priest. I guess it would be a tall ask to incorporate a pet class into a pet class. The AI could go a bit crazy. Second, I wish there was some kind of damage meter for my retinue / squad and myself. Much like Vampire Survivors. That would help me to fine tune the build. Or to leave certain retinue member(s) behind (and gain a good buff).

For those who are familiar with the previous classes in this game, it is a treat. All the experience you have in building those classes, you can apply to the squad members of Hierophant. I can imagine though if you are new to the game, Hierophant can be really confusing to pick up. So I would strongly recommend you to play other classes first and visit Hierophant the last.

For those who struggle with switching between character hotbar and the hotbar to command the squad, just hit TAB. There is no weapon switch for Hierophant. The switch is a toggle between self and squad. And for those who are interested in my YouTube content, I have a playlist for this game.

While Arkansas is a smaller state compared to some of the DLC's, it is one of my favorite in recent time. There are lots of interesting landmarks, from marina to nuclear plant to lots of greenery. You can probably truck through the entire Arkansas in 4 hours covering all the cities and viewpoints. Nevertheless, it is a good addition to inter state trucking.

If you keen to see what this DLC offers, I have a video for you.

This game is fun, provided that you have spent some time to read up some of the guides in Steam.

The game can be ok-ish fun for the first play through, provided that you have picked a class that you enjoy playing. It is accessible and has a bit of 'end game' elements. Game balancing is pretty terrible. Pet AI also pretty bad. I would recommend picking a ranged character. Not worth at full price. But at 90% off, I can't complain too much. Hope this helps.

My sincere advise is to have eye drop ready nearby. A beautiful game that lasts a movie's duration. And then play again for the rest of the achievements. It's a keeper.

People often compare this game with Diablo 4 and Path of Exile. And say that Last Epoch is in between the two.

In my humble opinion, Last Epoch beats Diablo 4 hands down. And it is way more accessible compared to PoE. Trading is not required!

Last Epoch is a really good game. And it doesn't cost as much as a AAA game either. Even at full price, it is well worth the admission fee.

Detail review as follows.

The Good
  • Innovation: 2 factions to satisfy those who prefer to trade items with other players based on open economy versus those who prefer to farm items without trading with others.
  • Innovation: A skill tree for each skill. A lot of options to build a character the way you want to play.
  • Easy to pick up, fun to master. 5 skill buttons. 1 move button. And 1 potion button. But a lot of depth to how each skill plays and interacts with each other.
  • Well designed on defense and offense. It is tight enough to allow build experimentation for most content without having to research on an OP build and copy.
  • Best-in-class rule-based loot filter. It makes you wonder why this hasn't become the standard.
  • Fun and varied boss encounters. For non-rogue-like encounters and non-hardcore, respawn is just a stone throw away!
  • Not making you to do the boring stuffs in order to experience the fun stuffs. Don't feel like a job.
  • Fast pace content, with varied duration.
  • Minimum out-of-battle downtime. Vendor, chest, loot rewards etc. are just steps away. No need to travel across town to visit different vendors, crafters, stash etc.
  • Crafting is fun, especially on late game. It has depth and it is accessible. When you get an upgrade, you can in some cases recycle your old ones.
  • No need to constantly look at the clock. There is no MMO-like timed event!
  • Good mob density.
  • Good environment/mob color variation going from one map to another. Love the color vibrancy. Not just dark and gloom like other games.
  • A lot of stash space!
  • True offline mode on day 1.
  • Solo self find - character/account - on day 1.
  • Reasonably priced.
  • Has potential for greatness.

The Average
  • Rogue-like gameplay isn't fun for all. Some may find it frustrating.
  • Story presentation is very basic. I am not engaged at all. If I make some effort to read through the text, I think the story is pretty OK. I am not as emotionally attached as other aRPG.
  • Time travel concept is a novelty that could have explored further. I especially like one dungeon that requires me to jump back and forth in time. There are some quests that also require time travel to complete. I wish there are more in the game to do with time travel.
  • World maps look empty. Especially the ancient era. Maybe for further expansion.
  • Not state-of-the-art graphics. But I would prefer game play to form factor. So this doesn't bother me.
  • Not a fan of gender locking. But I can understand it may be too much of an ask for an Indie company to provide that option.
  • Content doesn't adjust to your level. It could be a good thing for some, not so good for others. I personally like level adjusted content better for more relevant reward and challenge.
  • Circle of Fortune (for players who don't trade) encourage prophesy stacking for max reward. I.e. you will likely focus on 1 of the 3 end game modes - monolith, arena, or dungeon.
  • Mid/End game is kind of light at the moment. I end up running monolith ever since I have completed the story at level 40+.
  • Frame-rate drops in some places.
  • No Steam achievement.
  • No option to create a guild or clan. Not even a basic one.

Single player mode isn't fun. The latest patches make the game really hard. The progress is really slow. Game pace is really slow too. The game is really unbalanced. RNG can ruin your experience. If you have made mistakes in your prior reward decisions or during battles, it can be near impossible to recover from it.

I can't refund. Too bad. But I can uninstall. I wish I didn't buy this. This game has so much potential.
