As a platformer itself, the game is a lot of fun. Levels are challenging and varied & the new mask powers are interesting,
Not a huge fan of the alternatively playable characters (I'd prefer playing Crash/Coco over Tawna/Dingodile..) but I appreciate the change in gameplay styles nonetheless.

As a collectathon, it's probably the worst game ever. In fact, they went so off the rails with collection that it negatively affects the regular gameplay experience.

People that know this franchise should be familiar with gems; whereas the original games had like 40 or so, Crash 4 has like, 400. On top of relics and other collectibles. This by itself isn't a huge issue, but the ridiculous grind to get these gems is what does it for me. Levels are long and don't shy away from having 300 - 500 boxes to break for a gem. Boxes are hidden so deviously you're practically told to use a guide. Because of this I stopped caring to even break all the boxes. In turn that makes levels shorter (don't have to bother with alternate routes, bonus rounds, difficult box challenges in-level..).

Anyway give us CTR:NF too. It's about time™

The models are a bit uncanny and the graphic style is pretty awful. The cutscenes are terrible; always skip them.
The story - man, I don't know, who gives a damn? I'm not paying any attention but I bet my left nut it's ♥♥♥♥.
The combat is nothing special, it works for what it is (and it's very simple).

But I can summon Obelisk the Tormentor to slam DIO into the floor & that's all I'm here for, really.

I got it at 89% off (Deluxe) + Character Pass 2 (75% off), and I think that was worth it, solely for the fun
I can have playing as some of the characters I love (DBZ, Bleach, Jojo..)

While the combat is incredibly simple, at least it feels nice; punches carry real weight to them.
I hope they'll be able to do a crossover game in the future that looks better with a more anime-aesthetic
