I can't decide if i want to recommend this game or not. But i think that it is fun until you get pretty good at it. Then you start to realise how unbalanced it is, and it will not be very fun anymore.

I like the world and the style, but the whole game is so gimmicky and unsmooth. It's alot like diablo 1, with a bigger world but more boring combat. I think it has promise, but not that great at its current state.

While parts of this game is really fun and great, you spend most of your time in this game doing things that are NOT fun. Tedious is a good summarizing word for this game.

To research new things you have to progress the main story for some reason. And the main story quest line is sickeningly repetetive and time consuming. Maybe some 10 hours ago i maxed out research and is rushing the main story just to unlock the next tier, but it just doesnt end.. I would start a "sandbox" game instead, but in that mode you have unlimited gold, which is just not fun at all to me.

Another huge gripe i have is that there are various "reduces/increases heat/smarts/loyalty/etc" items which you can build in the game, but NONE of them actually work. I tried to figure out whether the bonuses stack, but instead i discovered that not only do they not stack, but they do virtually nothing. Planning your base around these items is basically a waste of time.

I'm gonna give this an honest review because the reviews i read before buying this game was not helpful.

First off, this game is a murder mystery game. You and 15 other students are kidnapped and trapped on an island. Your captor (a talking bear) is encouraging you to murder eachother by promising escape from the island if you kill someone and get away with it. If however the group figure out who the murderer is, the murderer is then executed by your captor.

Now, I have not completed this game yet, I have only gotten past the first murder, and i think i am done because of the gripes i will mention next.

This game so far is more like a movie than a game. It seems like you have choices but you really don't. You cannot leave a room until you have found all the clues you need, and at the when you are at the stage in the game where you try to solve the murder and deduce who did it, basically it's structured like for example:
Whats the murder weapon?
a) Axe
b) Knife
c) torch

So basically you get huge hints from the game, and while you could fail this stage, nothing really happens except your "health" bar goes down a little, and if it goes down too far you have to reload.

I also find the "minigames" at the trial stage (which is basically 90% of the non-cutscene gameplay in this game) super boring and childish. The protagonist solves a murder with hangman.. Thats like from a kid game except i would never let a kid play this game.

The pacing is super slow, there is no voice acting though there could and should be..

This game has a fun premise but is boring to play.

This game was fun and i would recommend it, but only if on sale.

My thoughts on the game is that it is a beautiful game with awesome music perfect for those who likes a strategy survival city builder.
This game is not for, in my opinion, those who just wants a city builder. I feel like after having completed the challenge this game offers, i am now pretty much done with it. I would say it was 16 hours well spent and well worth the 15$ i spent on it.

Absolutely loved the game. 8/10.

The reason i didn't give it a full score is because the environment is not nearly as dangerous as it seems to be. After a while you realise this, and throw caution to the wind, which is a shame because without the thrill it's not as fun anymore. Luckily I only started to realise it as I was getting near the end.

Which ties into my second point of criticism. The game is too short. I have 50 hours into the game, and I have done and seen everything. Don't really see the point of doing it all over again.

I feel the game need mod support with the option for multiplayer to become a 10/10. I still highly recommend it though.
