Both sides certainly deserve your agitation!

Games like Domina and Arcade Tycoon may not have much value as games, but they're both certainly fun to see how the developers react to opposing POV's.

IIRC I've only removed 3 posts (from other people) total on Steam. 1 on my profile that was just weird nonsense, 2 on a review that they just cussed at me with no criticism of what I said, unlike most people who actually stated points, and/or said something witty to mock my review.

~Steam profiles aren't a public forum, unlike, for instance, Youtube (videos & comment section), public Twitter & Facebook accounts / posts, Steam Game forums, which are all "The Public Square". IMO I think comments on reviews should be opt-out, and give a setting to default dis/allow them instead of forcing me to click allow every time.

~You're free to not look at stuff, you're not free to stop others from speaking in public spaces. I block a few+ people on Steam, a videogame site, so I don't have to look at their posts, and/or don't let them post scams/sites on my profile. This includes a developer who... um... gets angry and/or intolerant of criticism about their game and/or how they respond to user feedback.

It's to prove a point that supposedly this kind of comment is protected under "Free Speech" which means I cannot be blocked or ridiculed.

I'd had a look at the beta UI a couple of months ago and if I recall it does function similar to the one we have now, it just looks better. There's the home screen with all your box artworks, but the left sidebar should still be there with categories, and you click the game and it shows you the information to the right. Who's plays the game, news, screenshots, and now your trading cards/badge that floats when you hover over them. I don't recall exactly how everything was, but it should be pretty cool.

Anyways, thanks for your comment. I understand that just because I like the UI, that doesn't mean everyone else will too. I just feel like all the comments say it's trash or ♥♥♥♥ you Valve or implying that Valve never fixes anything important are completely false and unwarranted.

Also, I don't really play Monster Hunter, honestly just bought it because it seemed popular and had some cash to blow.

They also has VACNET and Overwatch which are supposed to help catch more cheaters and they have actual players reviewing matches to help ban the cheaters that the anticheat doesn't detect. Anyways, I'm getting a bit off topic, but I feel like the library update (and a future overhaul of the rest of the site) is definitely nice and that Valve deserves a lot more credit than people give them credit for. I definitely feel like people are just whining and will get used to the new UI. (I've actually seen someone say that they might switch to console gaming just because of a new UI.) I've also never seen any obtrusive game ads on Steam, and I don't see how the news game thing that pops up on launch could annoy people when it gives you good information about free game weekends and new releases.

I find it especially strange as the UI is more in-line with the modern look of other applications/sites nowadays, to me it just seems like people like complaining. If people really do end up having performance issues with the new UI then I hope they do keep the old design as a "low performance mode," but aside from that I personally don't understand the other complaints. Especially when people are like "Why are you giving us a (IMO) beautiful update instead of better anticheat or fix this that blah blah..," honestly just seems like a bunch of needless whining to me. Like you noted I love Counter-Strike, and in regards to VAC I've literally only seen like two cheaters, typically when I was playing with a friend with low trust factor and I've actually seen someone get banned in the middle of a game for cheating. Valve has implemented many features such as trust factor in order to put cheaters and griefers into the same matches and good players into the same matches.

I'm not annoyed; thanks for your comment, I've personally never had any real issues with Steam in general and IMO the update seems to only add features that are "optional" in themselves. I mean I guess you have to see the artworks of your games, but as far as I can tell you can still navigate your games from the side-scroll bar on the left side as usual. I think the features are helpful especially if you have a lot of games that you bought and just never finished like I do. I've also never had any issues with Steam loading my games in BPM or anything and I've never had a really good PC. I understand just because I don't have issues and like the update doesn't mean others don't, but more features that you don't HAVE to use just seems weird to complain about to me, especially given Steam is a "free" client (I understand people buy games) anyways and I see a lot of people being pretty harsh about what I see as a beautiful update to a UI that has been around for a long long time.
