It's been a long time since I either played or reviewed this game so I'll just repeat myself for those of my friends that may have missed it the first time around.

This is one of the more original titles out there and still holds up fairly well despite its age. It is a hybrid between a Total War style of play on the one hand and a choose-your-own type story path on the other. The two elements mix extremely well and, along with the mythical storyline, gel to create something that is more than the sum of its parts.

Whilst its sequel is arguably better in respect of it being more up to date technically (although the graphics have held up surprisingly well and look far better than they do in the store page shots) the traditional story of Arthur used here is one that your familiarity with actually improves your experience in the game. Therefore, I wouldn't necessarily agree that either one is better than the other. Both are great games for which there are no real excuses for you not to add them to your collection.

You will want all the dlcs for each of them though so I would suggest not just buying either base game without them. Aside from that proviso I absolutely recommend both King Arthur and King Arthur II.

Both of these games have been massively overlooked and underrated. If you don't already own either then buy the I+II Collection Bundle.
