TR4 is absolutely gorgeous. AOD controls feel a lot better. Cannot wait to play it, or for the planned updates!

Snappy, fast-paced, combo-based combat a la Mass Effect 3.
Gorgeous VFX and models, particularly hair and spell effects.
Some very exciting lore reveals.

A very different game to what we might have hoped for, but after being forced to restart development as a live service game, then restart -again- as a single player game in the last 3 years of dev time, I'm honestly surprised it's a 7/10.

Sadly wasn't instantly a record breaker, so the publisher wants to pivot to 'shared world experiences'. Enjoy the live service slop to come.

Excellent roleplaying game. Stunning visuals, faithful recreation of the 5e system with thought-out adaptations/quality of life changes for the video game format. Thoroughly enjoying the story and exploring the world - it always feels rewarding.

The characters all feel integral to the story, and are unique and loveable (or love to hate!). Each one feels like a fleshed out individual with their own story, goals, and agenda and will react to your own choices.

Already thinking about my second playthrough when I'm not even halfway through the first. Can certainly see this brilliant revitalisation and introduction of the genre to a wider audience winning Game of the Year.

Despite my hours on Steam, I've owned this game for years and years on disc. 10-12 years, at least. And I've played it throughout. At the time of this review I have about 8 hours on Steam? But on disc I have hundreds upon hundreds, if not thousands accumulated over the years.

I can say without a doubt that the Jedi Knight series is most likely the best entry into Star Wars video games there is. There is simply no other game that blends lightsaber and/or blaster combat with such immersive use of The Force so perfectly. They even have decent stories to go along with them! There's just so much at your disposal to use.

The variety of locations/planets you go to is fantastic, a large majority of them have, as far as I'm aware, never been seen in Star Wars media otherwise beyond literature, or perhaps some comics. They are very imaginative portrayals that remain true to the typical original trilogy style. Music puts the original trilogy's music to great use.

As I said, the story isn't half bad. The voice acting could be better for some characters, but it's not horrendous, just a little funny. Kyle Katarn, however, comes off just as well as he always has, and he features rather prominently in some areas, and is easily Jedi Knight's greatest character (given he was the protagonist for most of it.)

There's plenty of opportunity for blasters vs. blasters and lightsaber vs. blasters, and later in the game there is a -lot- of lightsaber vs. lightsaber combat, with a choice of a doublesaber, dual lightsabers or single saber proficiency being open to you eventually!

Modding? MB2. Very fun multiplayer total conversion mod. Somewhat like Counterstrike for Star Wars (I say somewhat, it's an incredibly reductionist comparison but it's the best I could do.) Plenty of other maps and mods for single and multiplayer, however. Including single player campaigns. Maps, skins and gameplay mods multiplayer are rife to suit all you can think of. Fun maps, environmental/immersion focused, even roleplaying maps. There's simply no end to the modding content available for this game.

TLDR; Best Star Wars gameplay since its release in 2003. If you want a better story, play KOTOR or SWTOR. Want a prettier game? Play The Force Unleashed. But Jedi Knight has always been excellent for gameplay and level design that's fun and intuitive. For a 2003 game, anyway. Amazing modability with a modding community that's still somewhat breathing.

Played this game when my wifi was out.

Cried my eyes out like 4 times.

It's so charming in its nuances and own little ways. Very clever in many aspects and probably has more Easter eggs than I found. Also recommended to play multiple times to get the full picture, but I've only finished it once.

As someone who doesn't normally play this kind of RPG, I fully recommend this game. Very. Very. Much.

As for the game itself? It's a beautiful game. If you've got a rig and no compatibility issues and you love classic survival horror games, you will love this HD Remaster.

Haven't gotten to play it properly. Played RE4 on here before perfectly fine. Even had an old emulated version of REmake, which worked fine as far as I remember. The HD Remaster runs in slow motion, rather than super low FPS, constantly, save for the intro FMV. Even cutscenes are slow. On high or low textures, resolution, FPS lock etc, it's all the same.

As for me, well. Guess it's back to the original RE1...

+ Touched up player models
+ Alternative appearances for Chris and Jill, their RE5 models in addition to the original REmake ones.
+ Added features in terms of aspect ratio and controls

- Gamebreaking techincal issues, seemingly with compatability
- Control scheme may not be for everyone, but for me it's fine.
- Some of the backgrounds don't seem to have been given a makeover.

Ignore the amount of time on record. I have this game on multiple platforms so in total I have approximately 130 hours in it.

I absolutely love this game. Love it to bits. Played both male and female Shepard. This game will always hold a special place in my heart as one of top games I've played in the history of forever.

The characters, some find them transparent. I like them as though they were my own friends, which in a way they are.

Combat's a little clunky but shhhhhhh it's okay. <3 It's nothing too serious.

10/10 would do dirty things to this game and it's characters.
