The remaster is quite good. Between the KEX engine, improved enemy AI (and new movement patterns), this remake is a great addition to an otherwise timeless game.

The first FPS that captured my attention for longer than an hour. The first PC game that kept me up at night while I sneaked around corners and waited for the monster sounds. The SFX IMO still hold up today, as does the incredibly intense multiplayer.
