If you've ever played 2nd Edition Shadowrun this is a huge nostalgia trip - if you haven't it's still damn fun.

The majority of the game plays out like an old-school text-based RPG like Fallout (no voice actors required) and will have you investigating the death of an old friend through a variety of standard 2050s Seattle backdrops.

Combat, when it happens, is very similar to XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Each character has a set number of action points that they can use each turn to move, shoot, cast spells, control drones, etc. Normal difficulty shouldn't pose much of a threat (I think I've been killed twice) so once you have the mechanics of it down I'd suggest playing through on Hard or better.

Slight spoiler for the main story: make sure you put some points into Shotguns.
