A solid 7/10 game, that will one day be made amazing by mods. It's fine, which is about the best way I can describe it. It functions at launch and is probably Bethesda's least buggy game, although Ive run into a few minor bugs. The grabbing mechanic is worse than other games, and outpost building is kinda bad, but the shooting is the best of any Bethesda game so far and exploring space is fun, as long as you understand it's fast travelling from point of interest to point of interest. So far Im enjoying the story, and the faction quests seem quite cool. Same with most minor side quests, which is a massive improvement over Fallout 4. The persuasion mechanic is really cool, and definitely the best it's ever been. The perk system is quite cool, although unfortunately a bit of a swing and a miss, as many basic things are gated behind perks that require quite a lot to unlock. Basic stuff like sneaking and intimidation is locked initially, as well as almost every craftable item, including stuff I personally dont think should be.

At the end of the day, I do recommend this game, but tempter your expectations. I think it was over hyped, I know I expected too much and have been slightly disappointed but have still had a good time. Mods and DLC will improve this game, and I imagine one day it will be something really special, but for now it's fine

Fun horde shooter, although very bare bones currently. It has great promise, and worth the money for EA

The best warhammer 40k FPS ever, and the only game I have ever played that really makes me feel like a space marine

I really wanted to like this game, and ive put a lot of time into it, but I honestly find it more frustrating that fun a lot of the time.
The positives first:
The bolter and shotgun are super satisfying and I have no notes or improvement, they are the best I have ever used. Chain weapons and power weapons are also very fun, although having to constant reactivate the power-sword is a pain and unnecessary. The aesthetics of enemies and the are on point, it really feels like you're fighting a nurgle cult in a hive city and the weapons look as they should.
If you liked Vermindtide, and like 40k, you'll find some enjoyment in this game. It's fun with a squad of four players, with decent gear, who know what they are doing.

Other than that, I unfortunately have very little good to say about Darktide. The balance is weird, or just straight off in some cases, and is almost always geared towards being anti-player, even to the detriment of the 40k lore. Most of the guns are just not satisfying, and the basic lasgun is the worst I have ever seen. It has comparable recoil to the bolter, does about the same damage as a precision autogun and uses 3 ammo per shot. Worst of all, the hipfire is unusable as the lasbolts will just go off at random angles. i get hipfire is supposed to be inaccurate, but for God-Emperor's sake, this is ridiculous. All in the name of 'balance'
The game is unfinished, unoptimized and crashes constantly. The list of missing features, including any kind of story, is larger than those implemented. Id call the monetization predatory, but the cosmetics are just ugly, clip through character models and are so overpriced that I dont see anyone other than those who have already bought the Emperor edition using the ingame store.
I could go on, but honestly Ive already been harassed by people from the forums during the beta, when i dared to voice my concerns or opinions. While Im sure there are many good players and community members, an unfortunately number of people seem to be trolls or actively against people voicing their opinions.

Swing and a miss, Fatshark, just barely

While the game does a number of interesting things, the guns and explosives are all universally disappointing and, combined with bullet spongy enemies that dodge like an elite on heroic difficulty it makes combat just frustrating. On easy difficulty, the enemies just straight up cant hit you. On medium, the later game enemies can just one shot you as soon as they see you, and seem almost immune to bullets. Unforuntatly, this game has not aged well, and it's good points are few and far between
