This either has to be a joke, or we have to deal with one of the worst studios out there.

The only problem with that, is that there's nowhere else to go. These dudes are so incompetent, so daft, unskilled and untalented, that they fail, eventually come second, to the genre they have absolute monopoly on.

This is the worst release since rome 2 and the game is not even broken, if you can call that a game, more like a demo.

3 WHOLE NEW FACTIONS, await you in this story driven light on tactics, light on strategy rpg, in the most linear map i have seen in a total war, it almost feels like the corridors of ff13.
One of the most glorious moments was killing the enemy antagonist of one of the factions that no one cares about, no one asked for, only to have him besiege me again in 3 TURNS with a stack of 17 and a stack of 12, while i was still replenishing. I still beat him with autoresolve because my units where elite, get it? Doesn't matter the enemy had 3-4 times the numbers, i had those MEDJAY dudes from the mummy, hell yeah dude YEEHAW!

I'm not even gonna list anything else, the failure of this is obvious, i want to talk about something else though, The Creative Assembly, is the worst. We now know from leaks of their incompetence, sega was not at fault. If anything, sega provided the funds their worthless brand branch or whatever the #### they call it was asking for. This is all their doing, this is one of the occasions we can clearly say, the devs are %%%%%%% idiots. Also, as of last night ca is banning anyone in redit or steam that mocks them or even asking genuine questions about future releases. They are they worst of the lot, a disgrace to the whole gaming community.

I will end this review with this, as last thoughts. $$$$ you Creative Assembly, **** you up your @@@@@@ asses, i regret spending those money back in 2000 to get shogun, should have stayed a normie. 1/3 of the people you are throwing away is not enough, shut it down, you WILL NOT BE MISSED, and you wanna know why? All we have to !!!!!!! do is wait till April of 2024 and you will be replaced before i can spell INADEQUATE, because that's what you are.

edit: ok ok i am a bit passionate and a bit of a &&&&, so i have to give credit where credit is due: You guy, whoever you are, who writes the music for these games, it is good stuff bro i have to admit it. It doesn't have the uniqueness and/or character of our daddy J.V.D. but it really helps to endure/slog though recent tw titles. I hope the best for you.

i'm trying to like it the way i liked tw:whII, with all it's flaws.

I am a tw veteran, been there since release day of Shogun 1. I have bought everything from them, some titles i have bought more than once due to cd damages or loss.

Total war, from 2000 up to the 2020's was my favorite game of all times and while this opinion has greatly degraded in the last years, it was not because of warhammer. You see, while tw:wh is as usual, a bad tw game, at the same time it's a great wh game, one of the best ever published. So a naive person would be right to think that the third title would be the best, with immortal empires, you will finally be able to do this great "everyone against everyone" in a huge map.

What went wrong? Why was the map graphics downgraded to cartooney pastel warcraft like shrubbery, everything is so colorful, more like neon cyberpunk and less grimdark. the character models on the map look worse than wh1, people die randomly in the back lines instead of people in front, you still need a mod for simple stuff like reloading animations, height advantage does not matter, animations do not matter, hit boxes do not matter, projectiles do not matter, everything is just numbers going up, or going down. It's not even in the "don't care, looks cool" category, it looks like crap.

This engine is creaking and moaning like a LADA car being driven 230mph in a highway. I can't even with these guys anymore and i'm not even talking about the prices going up. Can't wait for the indie scene to literally shut them down with competition, soon. Abhorrent treatment of one of the most unique franchises in the gaming industry, disgusting treatment of the long time veterans and modders, i trully despise what sega/ca has become. The day they die as a studio is the day that i will be able to die a happy man.

Edit: Just there are no misunderstandings. Is it an unplayable game? No. Can you still have fun with it? Yes. Did it worth all the money for main games and dlc for it to lead to this? That's a huge resounding No.

It has been disappointment after disappointment since rome 2, the same issues plague every game, features we loved are being removed, games are not fun to play without mods and it's not a money issue, they think they are Paradox but they are clearly not.
