Just a good o'l fashioned good game with a story that just works and doesn't over-complicate things like a lot of AAA games. Great visuals, very detailed character models for an indie game. Cutscenes are well-animated. Character facial animations are stellar.

Gameplay is simple and just works. Definitely recommend if you liked the first game or if you liked the Clock Tower series.

This game is a spiritual successor to classic Halo games (1-3), and sprinkles in Portal's portals and boost-jumping similar to Titanfall or any of the advanced movement COD games.

Temper your expectations when playing this game. It is an arena shooter, but not like many are accustomed to. I've seen many elitist Quake and UT players trash this game because it doesn't play like THEY expect an arena shooter to play, thinking that Halo was never an arena shooter because it doesn't have bunny hopping or laser-accurate weapons or uber-fast movement. You still have the weapon pick-ups and pre-determined weapon loadouts, though; with players rushing points of the map that spawn the high-tier weapons.

Halo is a bit of a weightier game than most arena shooters, but still has that bit of float to it that it isn't "realistic". Might seem like a weird combo, but the series has been around almost 20 years. That proves it's a good formula.

There is regen health, not health pick-ups. Since this game plays like Halo, you have armor that is actually armor; unlike most games that present you as this all-powerful god, who dies after taking only 3-6 bullets, there is incentive to use laser/energy weapons or high-powered projectile weapons (like the sniper rifle or shotgun or revolver). If you played Halo, you remember energy shields; they are a thing in this game, which means the "lead" weapons kill enemies slower and it's best to use your magnum pistol to counter weapons like the assault rifle. All the guns have roles and work better in different situations(cqc, mid range, long range) than others.

I see a lot of people complaining of balance; these people are crying for buffs and nerfs, but they are actually using the weapons they are "sucking" with wrong and then complaining "pistol is overpowered. we're cursing, as this guy, keeps killing us with both of our automatic rifles and he only has a pistol". Anyone who remembers Halo or the competitive days of Halo remembers that slow firing revolver took a lot of practice to use and the best competitive players could solo-dominate against whole teams of players.

This is one of those high skill ceiling games that will hook you or hurt your feelings. Won't hold your hand. You will see players that seem like they "play 24/7", but the game only just came out. Not my words, but salty forum users calling them "tryhards". These guys are just long-time Halo players who's skills carried over because the devs did a great job of emulating Halo weapons and physics.

The great thing about this game is the devs actually listened to Halo fans; the core of the classic games is there and the addition of portals and sprint and boost jumping make the experience fresh without taking away from actually having to aim > a common complaint with modern arena shooters is cheap RNG tricks that help players who play poorly.

Portals work like you expect from portal, but sprinting is slower than H4-H5 and boosting isn't overdone. They only serve to make the portal gameplay work better. And in custom game modes, it's a blast. If you played Halo custom games, expect.. loadout customization, game modes like odd ball or swat, and even gravity and speed modifiers. Some say the boost jumping needs a buff, I disagree. I think it's great for the game the devs intended, but works perfectly for custom games that mess with gravity; and this is where it's fun to ♥♥♥♥ around, and practice and master gliding through portals.

As someone who hates f2p games, this is definitely one of the better you can play. If you don't like most arena shooters, this might have something for you. Overall, though, I think it's very high quality for something made by passionate halo fans and happens to be their first game. Visuals are good, animations are very high quality.

Gameplay | 6

Some balance issues, enemies are of questionable difficulty even on lower settings. Combat is a bit basic, but has more depth than Mars: War Logs which is appreciated. You definitely have to level your character in this one. Like a lot of Spiders' games, it can be a chore to play. It is a "good", "fun" game if you can look past the small-developer issues of it.

Graphics | 7

Obviously, not an AAA game. It looks like a better than Mars: War Logs, though. Nice lighting, environments are detailed, believable world. Good art direction. Character models not AAA-quality, but still very detailed. Nice visual effects when using character abilities. Good presentation.

Performance | 8

Performs great aside from some fairly-heavy fps drops in some places, but they don't ruin majority of the experience. If the game was 64-bit, probably wouldn't have these issues.

Sound | 7-8

Good sound effects. Good(actually nice, fitting) music. Voice acting isn't amazing, but good; a lot better than the last game. The main characters are acted and portayed well.
Story | 7-8

There's a surprising amount of depth to the story and characters inside it, considering this comes from a small developer. If you remember playing games like Mass Effect, you'll appreciate the character development and how followers are written. You'll have to earn their trust to make the most of their usefullness in combat or if you want to romance them. And they can even influence how certain story missions unfold. Like Mass Effect, there's replay value in taking different characters with you on the same missions during a new playthrough.

There is lore. The story is mature. There's multiple dialogue choices and outcomes for quests. And, unlike so many similar games these days, your choices and who you align yourself with(the factions in the game) all effect the ending. You can be a saint(literally not kill anyone) or kill everyone where the game presents you a choice.

The story is interesting and redeems the weaker parts of the game. I don't want to spoil it or talk about it. Best you go into it knowing nothing.

You don't have to play Mars: War Logs to enjoy this game. Both games take place during the same time, but involve certain different characters and The Technomancer is the game that brings the story and it's conflict to a close. If you're interested in both, try the first. But TT being the much better game, story wise and gameplay wise, War Logs will feel like a downgrade if played after. You'll know more about the mutants and the corporations if you've played War Logs, though.

It's basically moore DE: HR.

Bear in mind before you have expectations:

- port of a mobile game

Levels are slightly smaller(yet still have detail), you can't jump or ADS. You can still save whenever, but you have only one save(you get "save" or "load" in options). Controls can be set up like HR, though some tutorials and prompts will still display default keys. There aren't physics; you can't manipulate objects yet you can still break walls and move heavy objects blocking vents. rest assured, the meat of HR is still very much here. NPC's dissapear after you kill them, so there is no need to drag bodies; stealth works. game is very stealthable. Augs are all here.

Get past the shortcomings(minus the ui qwuirks), the game is good. You can enjoy it. It's really not as bad as a lot of reviews make it out to be. Try it yourself before you pass. I'm glad I did.

If you played HR and want more story in the rebooted universe, this is a good buy. It's a prequel. Incentive to play is the fact you learn more about the villains of HR and you also learn some backstory of a major character in MD.

Recommend:

FOV changer mod (google deus ex the fall fov changer)

For people who don't like the tint, you can google "Shinobu Fix | -Natural Color- DX11 only" sweetfx preset. It's for human revolution, but works also with with this game. Make sure to use the 1.5.1 injector by Boulotaur2024.

Nvidia driver version 353.62 and up causing crashing in some contracts. Preventing completion/progression and saving, so you can't even move on to the next contract.

Would downgrade, but I have other games installed that need the newer drivers. Don't really feel like downgrading.

Not the game's fault. Nvidia apparrently has no plans to fix. August 2015 - January 2016, not fixed.

Game is otherwise a good game. I know, because I played it on console way back when. Definitely a hardcore stealth game. If you like stealth, don't compare this to Splinter Cell or MGS because this game handles it much differently. Obviously, you are a hitman.

I've played all the Beth Fallout games and TES Morrowind through Skyrim. Everyone needs to just skip on those garbage games on PC, and get Fallout 4. They all suffer from a lack of x64 bit support and bad memory handling. Hence the crashing and stutter and other bugs with them.

Fallout 4 PC is actually optimized and x64 bit. I even uninstalled Skyrim after I played this. This is like the only optimized Bethesda game in all their years as a development company since Oblivion. I can't even go back and play those games after the performance difference between them and this game is so dramatic. All the other games are awful console ports that need to be forgotten. Aside from the UI which will be reworked by modders, Fallout 4 on PC actually feels like it was developed on PC.

If you do want to try those games, though, do so before you play Fallout 4. You really won't be able to go back to them.

Early Access Review
Graphics are 60% of a game - CryTek

Very few games use the CryEngine.

But when they do, boy, they are pretty. This one sure is. I have been waiting for a game like this to use the CryEngine since Crysis came out. I'd be screaming for Fallout or TES on the CryEngine. You can watch videos of Oblivion and Skyrim assets and world spaces ported to the CryEngine, and you think of the potential. And also mumble about how they will never use it. Luckily, though, this game can be your Fallout/post-apoc/open-world(truly) experience on the CryEngine. And I am very satisfied with it.

10/10 | Would buy another post-apocalyptic game on the CryEngine again.

Hello, heisters.

In light of Crimefest and Payday 2's birthday, Payday 2 and Payday: The Heist as well all their DLC are now for 75% - 90% off.

You can get them and their DLC on sale from today until 10-25.

And you can even play Payday 2, for free, in that same amount of time.

I encourage anyone to have a look at these robbery simulators !

You can rob banks, throw bags, gamble at casinos, cook meth(breaking bad style), drive high-performance cars, be a Splinter Cell, wield katanas or throw shurikens while shouting in Japanese(or be a ninja), have a barbecue, wield high explosive/high-power weaponry like RPG's and miniguns(and even at the same time), and a whole lot more !

So what are you waiting for, heister ? Pick these games up ! With Crimefest, there's not just the DLC content to buy. Free community content is on it's way, too !

Maybe I'll see you there, heisters.

To those who already know..

Cash is KING.

Before you buy, consider..

- Limited resolution support

Game displays optional resolutions as low as 640x480 to 1600x1200, but only 1280x1024 is the max, selectable resolution for the game. And editing config files won't do crap for you.

To get your game to run in your monitor's native resolution, you're gonna need one of two versions of this program called res changer..

Version 1 or 2. Try 2 because it's newer. If it doesn't work, 1 might. 2 didn't work for me, so I had to use 1. Only drawback to having to use 1 is that it has no support for windowed mode like 2. And that alt-tabbing with 1 crashes your game. But, hey, it works. And I almost refunded my game. Looked awful downscaled. Game may be old, but still should have had more resolution support.

- Very few graphics settings.

You're gonna need to force AA, AF, etc on from your video driver control panel. Everything in menu only affects quality of textures, shadows, and post-processing FX.

Overall, the game is a good game. I have less than an hour on it over Steam, but I speak from experience from having played it on console years ago.
