"Ah s***... here we go again..."

Another videogame masterpiece ruined by rockstar but bought back to life with the awesome GTA SA improved Classic mod. Sadly, this game doesn't hit true 60FPS because the game was not designed for that frame rate, but look past that and you will find one of the best, most ambitious games ever made. (Well, for 2004 anyway.)

The GTA 3 Improved Classic mod has bought this game back to life. It's archaic now, but there's nothing quite like speeding through the city at night while Rise FM plays in the background.

No one will read this because Rockstar in their "infinite wisdom", have taken down the original GTA's from the store, leaving only the "Definitive Edition." If you somehow find this review because you have the original Vice City on steam, save your money. Simply install the GTA Vice City Improved Classic Mod, and it will breathe new life into the game, giving full Xinput controller support too! Now you can re-live your childhood memories of riding the Moped in the sunset while "Broken Wings" plays on the radio.

TL:DR - A very clever game. Telegraphs the story and gameplay to the player very well.

I can see the comparisons to Doki Doki Literature Club. If you already know about that game then I'm afraid the premise of this game has been spoilt for you. Well, that and if you read the Steam Descriptions. Kinda hard to avoid it!

PROS:

+ "Try before you buy" with a Free Demo!

+ The way the dialogue pops up on screen then falls to the floor is really stylish.

+ Fitting ambient soundtrack.

+ Clever story, with some good lore.

+ Full of surprises. Subverts expectations a lot.

+ So much puzzle variety and unique mechanics.

CONS:

- Some gameplay elements were annoying, and required trial and error. To say more may spoil.

- Despite subverting expectations in gameplay, the ending was too predictable.

- Looking for small objects got tiresome.

Overall, it's a very clever game and you can tell a lot of heart and soul was put into crafting it so it deserves a Positive score.

A simple, if kinda unremarkable Batman game.

Great for Christmas time considering the setting. Get while it's on sale!

Back in 2011, I had to put up with this on PS3, which had a Memory Leak issue, causing the game to slow down abruptly after many hours of gameplay. Nowadays, any decent PC can run this game smooth as butter. I envy people who never played an RPG as ambitious as this before. Look past the dated graphics and you will find a true gem of a game, giving tremendous freedom to the player. It really is Bethesda's Magnum Opus, in my opinion.

Las Vegas is such a cool setting for an FPS, so I can recommend it on that alone, but the best part about this game has to be the Co-Op A.I buddy's, commanding them, etc. One shot up close can kill you instantly. It's tough for an FPS campaign. Annoyingly, you cannot run in this game, which is ridiculous and does hamper the experience but on sale, I can definitely recommend it, BUT, if you can only chose between 1 and 2, go buy Vegas 2 instead. Because at least you can run.

TL-DR: This original cover shooter stands out in a sea of generic cover shooters.

Binary Domain is a PS3/360 era underrated classic. You face off against all sorts of Robot's with your ally's who will obey or disobey your commands depending on how much they trust you.

PROS:

+ Fast, fluid action

+ Beautiful cutscene graphics (Same team that do the cutscenes for the Yakuza series so no wonder)

+ Runs like a dream on a decent old GPU

+ Fun banter between characters in cutscenes

+ Headshots are so satisfying. *PING!*

+ Great action OST (Albiet far too quiet in game)

CONS:

- A little short

- Some frustrating moments including Quick Time Events and stopping Robots from blowing up a fuel tank which took a bit of trial and error

- The music is very quiet for some reason

- The a.i commands are next to pointless, I found myself very rarely using them

- Final Boss is one tough S.O.B on Normal difficulty and above

Overall, Binary Domain took me 7 and a half hours to complete on the easiest difficulty. It provided a consistant challenge throughout and I'd give it an 8/10.

TIP FOR WORKING 360 GAMEPAD CONTROLS AND ICONS:

.Launch the Config File from the games installation folder and choose 360 Pad under controls.
.Now, launch the Binary Domain.exe from the games installation folder. NOT through the Steam Client!

TL:DR - Big fan of the movie? Absolutely must buy. Passing interest? Wait for a sale.

I am not the biggest Robocop fan but he's a Robot Cop and that's cool. I bought this on sale.

REVIEW CONTAINS GAMEPLAY SPOILERS!

Robo Pros:

+ Excellent power fantasy. Role playing Robocop with his stompy footsteps and enviroment scanning Green HUD feels awesome.

+ Enemy variety and consistant First Person Shooter gameplay that challenges the player with a customizable upgrade system.

+ Robocop's voice actor, Peter Weller, reprises his role as Alex Murphy Robocop.

+ Speaking of which, amazing voice acting all round. Torch Heads gang voice is entertaining.

+ Many references to the movies, it's a passion project.

+ Some good character development in the story with certain characters.

Robo Neutral:

This is not a conventional FPS where you take cover and crouch/jump. You cannot do those things. You are supposed to tank damage and shoot them before they turn you into scrap.

Robo Cons:

- Many shootouts are completely silent with no music.

- Some difficulty spikes like the part where you defend yourself from waves of robot droids.

- For the most part, bland mission locations. So many videogame cliche's! There's a Chop-Shop, a Quarry, a Prison and even a Sewer Level! Would have preferred more modern looking interiors like the first mission had.

- Janky animations from NPC models.

- The save system is quite bad. No manual save and it's unclear when you get save checkpoints.

Overall, I'd personally give Robocop: Rogue City a 6/10. Definitely will satisfy Robocop Fans but for casual observers I'd recommend getting it on sale.
