I write this for TWO reasons.

Number 1: In NO WAY does this feel like an Early Access title. The sheer amount of content is MIND BOGGLING. Surprises around every corner, the game generates stories that occur and dissipate every single second of time you play. There is an endless amount of things to do. Want to be an animal and open up a tavern to serve the locals and maybe one day impress the king? Yeah, do it. Want to be a mercenary and perform contract kills for factions? Sure. Want to govern your own town in any likeness you want? Cult of the lamb the hell out of it. Absolute stunner of a title.

Reason 2: This game does not commonly post updates on Steam, simply because there is a built-in auto updater that is updated nearly EVERY DAY with new content and features. I can't count the number of patches since release with new content, and they just now started putting notes on Steam. Buy it.

Become the bar-owning dog that plays a violin to appease women that you want to be.

This is my first game I've played in the GB series, and having recently gotten into Gunpla, I decided to give this game a go. And my god am I glad I did. Customization is the best of any mecha game I can think of, and with over 250 REAL Gunpla sets to mix and match, and more weapons available than North America when a country announces they struck oil, the game shines.

It's fun, simple, endless, and the bounty system is a very welcome addition to total package this game offers. Combat is fun, customizable, and feels great. You can tell this was a labor of love from the devs, and a total return to form after what I've read of New Gundam Breakers.

If you're even slightly curious (or bi-curious) about the game, just buy it. It's stupid fun, and blowing parts off a giant robot hasn't felt this good in a long time.

This game really deserves even more recognition than it gets.

You put 4 random people who DO NOT know each other into a server, and the only way to identify the ghost is to work together.

That's it. The comedy and horror writes itself from there. Every game feels like a B-Movie ghost story with 4 actors who have no idea what they are doing, but have $5,000 in ghost hunting equipment sitting in an ice cream truck that you park outside of a location with one objective: Find the ghost. You get no clues where the ghost is. Is it cold? Maybe ghost? Guess what? It's snowing. Maybe try the spirit box? No reply. Why are the lights flickering? Oh, the ghost doesn't like voices and is now hell bent on killing your team 3 minutes into a hunt, which only just started because someone sneezed into the spirit box. Hunt over. One guy left. He has no mic. He panics. Door slams. Ghost moans. Mission failed.

10/10, I would've gladly paid $60 for this game.

I've been playing this game off and on for a couple of years. It's been incredible. There's no other game like it on the store that scratches the itch like Empyrion does. Starting from scratch to building your first base, to making your first hover vessel, then small ship, and exploring the galaxy freely to do as you wish is done very well. Lot's of interaction with objects in your ships, from doors and oxygen management to creating scripts to auto manage the fuel of your ship, it's all here.

Mods are a massive part of this game, with Reforged Eden completely changing the game and improving upon nearly every single aspect, from building and survival to combat and how small things work. There is a lot of love put into this game, and having an open workshop with thousands of ships and bases to add to your game is just the icing on the cake.

The open world itself is active, with tribes of different factions (Reforged Eden installed) wandering across the land to random attacks on your base from the tribes you've deemed a problem. Ships flying overhead and carrying about their business to bounty hunters and derelict ships waiting for you in space, there is always something to do, and having active multiplayer servers for both vanilla and Reforged Eden add even more bang for your buck.

Overall, the game is really worth full price, but at the current going rate of $10, you really can't go wrong here. One of my favorite games of the last decade, and being a huge fan of the SciFi genre, Empyrion really does capture Space Combat and Exploration like no other game I've played ever has.

Refunded day 1. Fast forward two years, NEXT releases. Buys again. Best purchase I've made in two years.
