Cool idea for a demo that keeps your save data for the base game, and serves as the prologue.
Minor stuttering in cutscenes at the start, and said cutscenes are locked at 30fps but other than that game ran great at 4k ultra 60fps

This game builds off the success of the previous entities in the title and improves on them in many ways, but also reintroduces some glaring bugs from previous versions of the last entry into the franchise, as well as a few others.

Pros:
Unique campaign for the standalone version, waiting to see how the sandbox grand campaign will play out.
Beautiful campaign map, way better looking than previous versions with corruption looking way better, befitting the increased focus on the corruption mechanic for the 4 monogod daemon factions.
Unique dialogue for each lord at the start of battle, an homage to the previous total war titles General Speeches.
Improved graphics in the battle, with even older factions looking absolutely gorgeous now.

Cons:
The lack of a sandbox version for the standalone campaign, this was an issue with game 2 of the Total War Warhammer franchise as well, and is unaddressed.
Weird Campaign reward for winning, and exceedingly punitive method of losing (might be a bug)
Numerous bugs, ranging from just annoying to game breaking, will most likely be addressed but can be a source of frustration.

Overall this is a great game which will be an amazing game within a few months. I would defintely recommend it in its current form predicated on the fact that CA will polish this rough diamond into a great gem.

Edit: as of 212 hours on August 29th, 2023. CA has not made this game much better and they consistently break DLC and overcharge for new DLC.

A great game and remake of the original.

For those that played the original this remains a faithful recreation of the major beats of the story, with some improvements to overall flow and narrative such as the flashback scenes every chapter. For those who started with 0 this game has plenty of callbacks to the past experiences in that game, though most of these are the result of sidestory dialogue.

The fighting retains the same movesets and styles from 0, with dragon now being unlocked from the start. This brings me to my major negative of the game, the way Dragon style unlocks. While being tied to the new Majima Everywhere system and Komaki training isn't a problem, the overall pacing of the unlocks are. This game introduces a new "Kiwami" gimmick in which enemies will start to regenerate health unless you attack them with the proper style's heat move that matches the color of their aura. To get the Kiwami action that counters Red Auras though you have to be at the near-end of the Majima Everywhere minigame, which is an issue because Majima approaches you in Mad Dog prior to this, and by the time you are at the point you can use it you will most likely unlock the completely overpowered Tiger Drop move.

Overall this game is a must-buy, if you played the original, played 0, or are starting with this game you will have an ultimately enjoyable experience of the type that the Yakuza series does well.

Dead Game.
Pre-ordered this game when it was advertised as 40k PLanetside.
Instead we got a worse version of the Space Marine Multiplayer Lobby shooter.
Now hardly anyone even plays this game.
