God for an hour or two I suppose .....

An excellent fantasy war game which I am very much enjoying.

Dev is very quick to jump on any problems - always a major positive in my book

Economics, production, research, diplomacy and of course war

Plus the heros who can lead armies, manage towns and of course explore dungeons.

Some excellent scenarios, including one based on medieval Europe, North Africa and Middle East.

There is also an editor included, i'm hopeful some talented people will develop some interesting new scenarios in time

This is an excellent game

Combat is not my usual preference - in this you always hit but the hit might be mitigated by armour etc

Most of your foes will be human or wild animals - but not all

Really like the ways you can improve your characters - not just by levelling up but by a couple of other mechanisms too

Lots of exploring, quests and side quests to do

In summary just an excellent, excellent game

Never played the original

This looks and plays really well

Basically an old fashioned dungeon crawler which does that very well.

That REALLY works for me

It is unforgiving, characters will die - I have had one total party wipe out

I can tell its going to be a LONG grind - I'm more than happy with that

Never played the board game

But, this is an awesome, quick game

Already hoping the other modules get released on Steam

Seriously this game and its predecessor are my favourite games of this type - by a country mile

This one in particular though is a loooong grind to get through

Only played a few scenarios and only a few hours in the bag at this stage.

But, I have seen enough to know this is a superb tactical battle system

Hope there is DLC coming down the track as would love to see other nations included

Just to expand on my earlier view

The more I play the more I like this - easily the best of the type currently available in my view

And I hear they do plan ore content in terms of Nations being added

If you like tactical ww2 turn based games - this is the one

Closest thing to squad leader out there too - which is another plus for me

I have many more hours than shown as I played a lot in the play test environment

This is a wonderful tactical battle game

Looks good plays really well

Some of the newer larger scenarios are just superb

In my last play session I see they have introduced an option to generate your own force rather than rely on the forces in that particular mission

Absolutely recommend this one

Picked this up in a sale as thought it might be worth a look as I am a big fan of this type of game.

It sat in my unplayed games pile for a while - then I saw a pretty positive review from a steam friend and decided to give it a go.

Very, very pleasantly surprised.

Excellent game, not a walkover even at easy level.

Some of the scenarios are absolutely massive - Russia 41 and France 40 are both absolutely superb fun.

Personally I would have been happy at the price with just those 2 scenarios - but there are others, there are campaigns and an editor.

Excellent addition to the war game stable.

A superb collection of scenarios - another must have if you enjoy the system
