Rustic, arcadey and visceral. Wall running and teleport attacks are welcome surprises. As are blocks and parries that can end a run in seconds. And weapons that can be used or thrown. There's way more fun here, than the asking price suggests.

This is a much better collection than last year's 'puzzle' version, with a great assortment of actual games. Granted, a couple of them look like flash games, and the main hub is nice but counter intuitive. Unless you snap to a calendar day, it's a little clumsy. And the game doesn't like it when you switch between controller and keyboard and mouse, which you'll want to do, as the controller is just too slow for some of the puzzles. I saw cursors for both on screen at the same time when I did.

I'm pretty sure I've encountered at least one non-popping achievement, and a major glitch with the match three game. I could be wrong of course, but the lack of developer or community input on the discussion board makes it hard to be certain.

All games can be opened from the start, but I bought this to play in earnest, opening one game per day. There is no list for opened games, just houses representing each day of the month. You are expected to remember which game is available on which day / house. At this point, while I do enjoy the games on offer, I doubt I will continue to see it through to Christmas day.

Again, much better than last year's offering, but a little frustrating. I think the sale price is fair, maybe full price too, if you have someone to couch co-op the games that support it.

I'd give this a solid 'mid' rating if I could, but can't really get behind a 'thumbs up' for reasons mentioned. Some of the games are quite fun, and show variety not usually seen in such a collection. A little spit and polish would push this to a recommend.

The bizarre story of a green yeti that terrorized a small alpine village, nearly seventy years ago on Christmas day.

Facts are few and hard to verify. The yeti itself is believed to have displayed incredible feats of strength, an insatiable hoarding disorder, and the ability to impersonate celebrities. It was also said to travel in the company of an Eurasian wolf.

In one of her last interviews before her passing in July of 2000, sole surviving witness Cintia Luihough claimed the creature died from a cardiac event during her confrontation with it in her home. Suposedly verified by an autopsy preformed by the village Doctor, who's notes claim the Creature's heart had swollen to more than twice it's normal size.

Other past testimonies differ wildly, with everything from the villagers actually befriending the yeti, to consuming it on Christmas day. The latter giving birth to the term, 'roast beast.'

In the end, whether these events occurred or not, Something happened in this quiet mountain town. And few tales chill the blood during the winter holidays as this one.

EDIT: The game based on this legend is actually quite good! Beautiful graphics, old school sensibilities, and some really nice bonus matierials including the original book, and hand written materials from the good Dr. Seuss himself!

Gorgeous Dragon Quest aesthetics framed by an MMO-like structure, with deep build options, and rewards. Rock solid and addictive. An adventure worth embarking on.

Nailed it in every category. An actual NES game from the era wouldn't have been this faithful to the property. And the looks, sounds, and difficulty will make you believe you're actually playing a forgotten 8 bit game.

Bonus materials are generous, and even include a new GPK movie!

This is how you do neo-retro.

I fly through space without stopping.

A delusive effusion of achievements popping.

Mash every button! Press on! Keep spurting!

Happy Me.
