In regards to how I personally feel about the game, I treated it like a joke really. I mean in all fairness it's not perfect and yeah it was overly edgy and corny at times but the game was fun gameplay wise although I do admit the difficulty spikes were annoying and the ending was... Well what I expected LOL

The way I see it I treat it like Steven Seagal movies, as films they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible but if you're just looking for cheap entertainment of a guy fueling his ego with tons of over the top action and explosions (and in this case edge) then well you get what you paid for and whether you like to enjoy/laugh it or not is entirely up to the player.

As for me it was exactly what I wanted it to be, a cheap fun edgy shooter game with decent gameplay, absurd humor and over the top one liners. Aesthetically it also really reminds me of security cam footage with the lack of color (I guess that's what they were going for) overall I got my money's worth.

I walked into this game very blind expecting something like Condemned: Criminal Origins or Doom 3 but what i got was much deeper than i expected. Without spoiling anything the graphic and disturbing visuals really help the game's atmosphere as well as serving as clever metaphors at times. Buried under all that however is a surprisingly deep and meaningful representation of depression. If you do plan to play this game be warned as it is very disturbing and graphic, the warning at the start is no laughing matter but another thing to keep in mind is this game is built on the Half Life engine so you have experience with those games then you should be fine.

My only criticisms are certain levels/bosses are not very self explanatory or poorly designed and some areas of the game are a little too unforgiving at times (could also be a skill issue so take that how you will). Another issue that I also found myself in is getting stuck in certain parts of the maps constantly and either having to reload my saves or glitch the game enough to fidget my way out of certain areas. Another common issue is the game does crash a lot after playing for long periods of time (Could also be my garbage PC though)

Aside from the few flaws the game has, if you're willing to push through all of that and enjoy it for what it offers it is an incredibly atmospheric, challenging and well written game for what it is. If you're looking for a really creepy survival horror experience with plenty of challenge, puzzles and heavy amounts of thinking involved then you'll enjoy this game. Not to mention it's free so no complaint there!
