Avowed is the definition of decent, I dont get the forced hate that the game gets or the comments about it being woke or something because 10 hours in, I cant really see any woke content. Just because the world is bright and colorful doesnt mean its woke or bad. The combat is amazing and its biggest strength, with lots of different playstyles and weapon combos. The graphics are also stunning and beautifully created. But not all is perfect. The world is, because of the NPCs, sometimes kind of dead. Sometimes you see NPCs do something like observe a dead body and try to think about what to do next, and then the next day they are gone and have taken the body somewhere else. So it has sometimes that attention to detail, but most of the time the NPCs are dead and you can clearly tell that this game was meant to be a multiplayer game with just a few background NPCs. So you cant really interact with most of the individuals in the world unless they have a quest for you. The quests, on the other hand, are well crafted, and you can tell that Obsidian still has that good quest design with good choices that can alter the quest. My last point is the world exploration, and its not that good I must say, other than games like Fallout New Vegas or Outer Worlds, because of the problem with NPCs and the sometimes lifeless world. Nonetheless, the game offers decent combat, decent dialogue options, with sometimes engaging quests and a graphically beautiful, well crafted world. 7/10.
