Many online games seem to have hidden balancing mechanics that subtly help struggling players while limiting dominant ones to keep matches competitive. For example, "Stealth Hit Assist" allows players who were previously missing shots to suddenly start landing them, possibly due to hitbox adjustments or secret aim assist boosts. Similarly, "Lag Compensation Boost" can favor high-ping players, causing delayed hits, rubberbanding kills, or unfair trades.

Another suspected system, "Momentum Correction," ensures that winning players face tougher opponents, worse RNG, or weaker teammates, while struggling players receive easier matchups or subtle buffs. In SBMM-based games, win streaks often lead to harder lobbies, while losing streaks result in easier games. There’s also "Comeback Mechanics," where losing players suddenly gain better accuracy, stronger damage, or lucky critical hits, almost as if the game is forcing a close fight.

In shooters and MOBAs, "Hidden Damage Scaling" can make players on a losing streak deal more damage or take less, making them harder to kill. Similarly, "RNG Adjustment" can cause skilled players to experience worse loot, fewer critical hits, or bad spawns, while struggling players receive better items, stronger resources, or perfect positioning.

While these systems are not officially confirmed, many players notice suspicious patterns—sudden skill spikes, unfair hit detection, and matchmaking that feels "rigged." Whether it's SBMM adjusting difficulty, lag compensation favoring weaker connections, or hidden boosts helping struggling players, these mechanics create the illusion of fairness—sometimes at the cost of real competition.
