It's a puzzle game in the sense that you're just constantly getting lost and trying to figure out where to go.

Part 1, Orpheus ascending - Terrible. Bland environment, the only puzzle type here is lasers which is boring. Relatively easy, If you can't figure out a solution you can really just brute force the answers and see what works. Gold puzzles are just more lasers but annoying

Part 2, Isle of the blessed - Incredible. Really fun puzzles with a mix of every puzzle type. Moderately challenging with scenic and enjoyable environment. Gold puzzles here are really fun, especially the one in the green zone

Part 3, into the abyss - Utter dogwater. 0 flow to the map layout. Constantly having to look at the map if you want to do puzzles in order. And guess what, MORE LASER PUZZLES!! WHY? Do the devs not know how to make challenging puzzles that don't involve laser crossing? Like I genuinely don't understand. There's so many cool and good puzzle mechanics in the game why is over half of the puzzles across all 3 acts just laser crossing puzzles..what an incredible dissapointment

This game sucks ass to play without a joystick. Way to much precision needed for keyboard

It's fun. The difficulty needs to be adjusted. I've come across so many level 1 and 2 logic grids that are more difficult than a 5, or even the star ones.

I'm not sure why this game is critically acclaimed with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Ive beaten the first 4 chapters collecting all strawberries, and doing side B versions of those chapters, and the game is just bad. The difficulty lies in pixel perfect positioning and frame perfect jumps to collect some strawberries. When you face a challenge in a video game your suppose to learn something. I just finished playing blasphemous and that game was phenomenal. When you encountered a difficult situation you take your time, learn pathing and movements, counter attack timing etc, here you just throw yourself at a wall hundreds or thousands of times until you get lucky enough to succeed.

Not only are you required to preform frame perfect inputs, the game has no map when you're in a level. Sure it tells you what strawberries you missed in a specific order in the level overview, with various checkpoints to sort of highlight where they are, but it feels like they "left" it out just to add artificial difficulty and tedium. It's like playing any FPS or RPG with your UI turned off, like...sure you can, but it just adds an unnecessary layer of difficulty.

Maybe I havent gotten to any big twist in the plot or far enough to encounter interesting characters but the writing in this game is mid. "Yoo broooo take a selfie with me lemme get 1k followers bruh"...absolutely cringe writing

All in all the game so far is mid at best. While on the main path, not worrying about the strawberries the platforming is actually very fun and fair. But the frame perfect inputs needed for a lot of the strawberries is just a tedious, lazy way of calling your game "difficult". If you've played the newest crash bandicoot, take a look at cortex castle, arguably one of the best, and more difficult levels in the game. It doesn't require any perfect positioning or inputs, but rather relies upon switching between masks and chaining abilities in a satisfying manor to succeed. It's good, i'll finish the main story I suppose and update my review if anything changes, but as someone who usually 100%'s every game this is going into the trash bin.

I wish there were more difficult platforming sections, ng+ and bosses but it was a very fun game. I really appreciate the fact you can 100% the game in 1 playthrough. In the previous game you could mess a quest up and have to replay the whole game for 100% completion, here you don't have to worry about that. Play your way, look up a guide to clean up the cherubs, altarpieces, beads and prayers etc whenever your ready.

I bought this game 22 hours ago...

Every run has been so much fun and different. There's a lot of really fun synergies.

For instance I had a relic that split bombs into a bunch of bombs, with a relic that permanently increased bomb damage per kill, and a ton of blessing that increased bomb size, ended up 1 shotting everything, bosses included. Luckily I didn't blow myself up.

How about a run where your pickaxe splits into more when thrown, in conjunction with it bouncing between enemies also with a ton of blessing with increased throw damage?

How about getting a golden apple relic that turns all your food gold, paired with golden popcorn which can duplicate golden items for esentially infinite healing?

Feeling masochistic? How about a curse run where you deal more damage for each curse you have, I ended up with 60+ curses total and it was a chaotic cluster ♥♥♥♥ but I loved it

After you have bought and upgraded everything there's a currency dump which allows you to unlock a secret area for 100k per run, so gathering gold always has a purpose.

This game really took me by surprise how in depth and polished it is. Ignore the few bad reviews, these people have obviously never played rougelikes. I saw a review where a dude said he got a blessing that increased his max health, but it gave him a curse that decreased his max health, and said the synergies are dumb and that shouldn't happen. Like c'mon what a asinine take

Buy this game

what the hell is this. 10 hours played and i still have no idea what the actual **** is going on in this game.

1. The leveling system is confusing as hell. it scales primarily with your weapon upgrades from what i understand, and areas are scaled to your level + 1. So really upgrading your weapon just makes enemies stronger, which defeats the entire purpose of leveling your weapon. I didn't realize this game did this, any game that scales enemies to your level is dog**** and a lazy way of managing difficulty. You never feel ANY sense of progression whatsoever

2. The loot in this game is absolute garbage. the only thing most enemies drop are ammo and scrap, this games currency, which, unfortunately like most games, there's pretty much nothing to spend it on. So wtf is the point of killing any monsters? to get your ammo back that you spent killing them...?

3. 10 hours in and the only guns ive seen available are all from the starting merchant, same goes for armor. have fun using the same 2 guns and the same armor set for the entirety of the game. Some tougher enemies drop some other stuff, but even though it's listed in the materials page you just have to check every merchant or figure out somehow what it does. In dark souls when you get an item description, it tells you what the item does, and then it gives you some background info/lore on it. Not in this game, it just gives you some background info on it without ever telling you what it does

4. consumable are a joke and useless

5. traits are a joke, boring and give such minuscule upgrades they feel irrelevant

6. Maybe it's cause i'm playing on nightmare but the elemental resistances and armor don't seem to do much at all. Kinda like how that starting resistance in biomutant doesnt matter.

I just don't feel the need to explore anything in this game, there's no reward for doing so. Killing enemies is pointless, you get ammo and a useless currency, the leveling your character doesnt matter so the xp you get from killing enemies doesnt matter. finding upgrade materials doesn't matter since leveling your weapon levels enemies so theres actually no point.

The UI looks daunting and confusing at first, and quite frankly, it still is. But underneath what looks like a ton of depth is nothing more than a shallow, waste of time, boring game

EDIT - I spent about 4 hours in the demo also

Here's what TPP2 has that starfield doesn't

-Interesting story and characters
-beautiful world design
-fun and engaging gameplay
-no major bugs (that ive encountered) "IT JUST WORKS"
-an active development team who actually listens to their customers

What an incredible step up from the first game, what a true sequel should be. This is a $69.99 game being sold for $29.99 and it's worth every penny

there's easily over hundreds of hours of content in this game, and i got it for $6. Best $6 ever spent. The game has so many cool interactions and depth it's insane. I really like the mechanic of being able to use any cards on enemies. Why would I want to heal an enemy you might ask? I wanted my unit in the back to kill it to get a slay bonus, and healing it prevented my front unit from killing it. One of many cool things you can do
