Foreword

I find ICARUS.1 a great little game and I have decided to post a video walkthrough for each chapter. Throughout the chapters I managed to collect all loot crates as at least half of the achievements pertain to finding collectibles.

Beside mentioned crates there are several terminals scattered throughout the levels that provide more background information on the story of the game. One particular terminal is considered a secret and finding it yields one more achievement. The rest of the 'cheevos are all story-related and cannot be missed.

Tip: in order to see the controls and change them immediately after launching the game press SHIFT. This brings up the Unity launcher that allows us to change the key bindings.

Chapter 1 Walkthrough
Things to know regarding chapter 1:
  • the ratchet will be an important piece of equipment as unbolting screws will be possible in later chapters, too
  • one crate is well hidden under the stairs
  • after turning on the power and heading back to the room where one door is blocked by a vending machine: just before going upstairs head to the other door which is now open and you can find an elevator - this section is only required for obtaining additional crates and using one terminal

Chapter 2 Walkthrough
Things to know regarding chapter 2:
  • this is the first time traps are introduced - be careful when it comes to the "plus" signs on the floor
  • traps can kill you even if you touch them while they are pulling back
  • once you obtain the key card stay in the crops research area as there is a closed door there - don't worry, this one also has a key card, plus, a terminal and a couple of loot crates

Chapter 3 Walkthrough
Things to know regarding chapter 3:
  • right at the beginning make sure you jump on the crates so that you can get behind them and enter the area with some loot and a terminal - if you miss the jump opportunity you cannot climb up to reach the other side once you are down so your best bet is to start over
  • there is one well hidden loot crate - right after activating the solar modifier head back and jump on the boxes to find a dark area that has one secret loot item
  • you do not need to take the elevator once you reach it - instead, head over the barely lit area where you can find a hidden crate; be careful as there are two traps in this corridor and one of them is directly in front of the crate

Chapter 4 Walkthrough
Things to know regarding chapter 4:
  • when you are in the hall with the drill after going downstairs do not pick up the fuse as you get electrocuted and you start over
  • there are 4 well hidden crates in this level - the first is behind the table on which you find the drill, the second is on the right-hand side just before lifting the container (once again a flare is very useful) and the last two are behind the door after leaving the hall with the containers (make sure you open the panel and pull the lever to open the door)
  • the achievement titled "special document" can be obtained in the room with the two hidden containers - this is where you need to interact with the terminal to get the 'cheevo

Chapter 5 Walkthrough
Things to know regarding chapter 5:
  • if you have reached this chapter you will not find it difficult to find all collectibles during your first run - one loot is hidden behind the traps but you will need to go to the other side for releasing the clamp anyway
  • although David, our A.I. companion, regularly mentions the importance of being in a hurry in order to escape (due to rising temperature etc.) there is no time limit for this level so feel free to take your time

icarus.1 is a good game and this is very helpfull guide (i used it long time ago, tbh).

Added Chapter 3 today (January 24th). This is my favourite with the room full of mirrors. Also, it was a challenge to find that one hidden crate (not as annoying as the ones in chapter 4).
