This guide will walk you through the entire game: quests by quests in a nice/optimal pathing order with as well as maximizing rewards & experience from a quest if possible!

  • Honor Among Thieves
  • A Dance with Death
    Turning in "A Dance with Death" will lock the player to Principi faction so consider your options carefully. Although you can still do the quest half-way in to obtain the Floating Hangman then bail, the ghost ship is yours to keep.

✎ Vailian Trading Company:

✎ Royal Deadfire Company:
  • The Final Maneuver
    Once you turn in "The Final Maneuver" quest, you will be locked with the Royal Deadfire Company faction. So make up your minds before proceeding.

✎ Huana:
  • Take out the Royal Deadfire Company
    Once you took down the Rauatai leaders and report to Queen Onekaza, you will be locked with Huana faction. So make up your minds before proceeding.

This tutorial is outdated. For anyone that wants an update the "Eulogy for the Dead" should be done a loot later.

Is there a text form of this? I prefer that instead of videos so i can just quickly look at it while playing. Don't want to spend too much time watching videos

awesome guide, very helpful in avoiding areas which are too difficult when playing on POTD with everything upscaled. thank you. I noticed it says it is outdated, however, although I read in the comments that you DID recently update it on June 2018. Any chance you could add some information for where/when is the best spot to attempt the starting quests for each of the 3 DLC , ideally, on POTD , upscaling = all?

This guide is not updated, Some of the quests now have triple red skulls at the level you suggest to do it :/ I'm level 12 and Eulogy for the Dead has triple red skull enemies :( It sucks that they change the game this much.

the tomb under Scared Stair? You probably watched the wrong video, the initial quest for the tomb is called "Eulogy of the Dead", use the link of the respective quest name above for the video to part of that place.

Hey Lost Sinner, thanks a bunch for the guide. This has been crazy helpful for me. I beat the game once and decided to use the guide to see what I might have missed and I have been pleased so far.

One question, playing on POTD, I am level nine and am doing Xoti's quest where you go into the tomb to get to the adra pillar. Your video seems to skip ahead to where its all already cleared out. How do you manage to clear this zone at such a low level? Maybe im just bad. Any help would be appreciated.

This is fantastic, thanks! Didn't notice this until now, after multiple playthroughs.

I would note for people having difficulty early on POTD, that filling your party to 5 members early with lvl1 hirelings immediately after getting level 2 (I go straight to port maje and pick up Xoti and talk to the governor to make lvl2) is a huge help - I find assassin/sharpshooter with bears or antelopes to be particularly valuable on gorechi street and at the dig site. And they help with (boarding) boat fights. Crossbows interrupt actions if you use the modal. And animal companions soak up damage (without injuries upon death).
