THIS MAP IS NOW IRRELEVANT AND WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATED AS OF 3/4/16. Insurgency currently includes only two gamemodes: community multiplayer and training. However, there is still a way to play full-sized maps without an internet connection. Read on to find out how.

Official Singleplayer (training)
Insurgency currently contains a mode called training. This gamemode places you in a maze of sorts filled with targets and rifle ranges. You are accompanied by an NPC who guides you and teaches you the basic concepts and strategies of the game.

Unfortunately, this 'basic training' is as far as singleplayer goes for Insurgency, and many players are left desiring more. The following text informs players how to expand their grasp of singleplayer and exploit the game in order to play full sized maps in singleplayer mode.
Enabling The Console
Before you start configuring your game, you must enable the console so you can input server commands. There are multiple ways to do this. The default key to open the console is the tilde (~) key. If this does not work in practice, go into 'Settings', select 'Game Settings', then click 'Enable Console'. Once you have done this, try using the tilde(~) key again. If the console still doesn't open, look in your game controls and check the key which is bound to the console. If it is not the tilde(~) key, you may want to reset it or try again with the set key.

If, however, you own a keyboard from a country which does not use the tilde(~) key, you can do one of two things:
1. Go into your Steam games library, right-click on Insurgency and select properties. Then click 'Set launch options' from the 'General' tab. In the text box, type -console. This should make the console open when you launch the game.
2. a)If option 1 does not work for you, you must rebind a key to the tilde(~) key. To remap a key on Windows, download MapKeyboard[www.inchwest.com]. The only requirement for using this useful program is that you have Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0[www.freewarefiles.com] installed on your device. To remap a key on a Macintosh computer, install DoubleCommand[www.macupdate.com]. To use this program you must have Mac OS X 10.4[download.cnet.com] or later installed.
b) Alternatively, you can simply rebind another key to replace the tilde (`) function. Credit to teoleo
Selecting Your Map
When you create your local server, you can choose which of the maps in Insurgency you would like to play on. Simply select the map you would like to play on out of the following list and refer to the next section to start your game on the level of your choice.
Level choices are:
  • Siege
  • Contact
  • Heights
  • Ministry
  • Uprising
  • Market
  • District
  • Buhriz
  • Panj
  • Peak*
  • Sinjar
  • Revolt
  • Range* (This is the firing range used in the training mission)
*These maps cannnot be played in co-op.

None of these maps have capitals when using the command.
Creating Your Local Server
To create your basic local server, open the console with the tilde key (~).

Once you have opened the console, type in this command:
map [mapname]
This will open the map you have selected with no bots. The default gamemode is 'Firefight'.

Keep in mind you can also start a coop (AKA Hunt) game by using this command:
map [mapname]_coop

To ensure the game is set to LAN (local area network), type
sv_lan 1
into the console. This makes sure that noone can join your game from the outside.
Adding Bots
Bots will be added automatically if you have chosen to play a co-op map. If not, you need to add bots to play against and with. To add bots, open the console and type in:
ins_bot_add [number of bots]
Or, to add bots with a specific team (security is one, insurgents are two) type:
ins_bot_add_team_[1 or 2] [number of bots]
^This command is broken.
You can also add the same amount of bots to both teams at the same time with this command:
ins_bot_quota [number of bots]
The game will then go through the process of calculating areas bots can spawn in and will eventually load the number of bots you selected around the map.
Changing The Game Mode
To change your gamemode, simply type:
changelevel [mapname] [gamemode]
Keep in mind, this will reload the map you selected earlier.

The gamemode types are:
  • Firefight - Each team has a territorial objective to defend as well as a neutral objective to fight over. Teamwork is vital for success. To win, either secure all three objectives or eliminate the entire enemy team.
  • Skirmish - There three territorial objectives to capture and defend. These are shared by the two teams. Each team also has a cache which must be destroyed after the other team dominates the three teritorial objectives. After a team's cache is destroyed, the game turns into a firefight match.
  • Strike - Supply cahces are hidden in two of three possible places. Attackers locate and destroy the caches.
  • Occupy - King-of-the-Hill style gameplay where both teams fight over a single objective.
  • Ambush - One team must escort their VIP player to the extraction point.
  • Push - Three objectives must be captured by one team in sequential order.
Changing Bot Difficulty
Many players find standard bots too easy, and want a greater challenge. To change bot difficulty in your multiplayer game, simply type:
bot_difficulty [1-5]
Known problems
Problem: Bots leave after countdown.
Solution: Start a game, set it to lan, join a team, then use the ins_bot_quota command. (credit to TPI | Starwolf1991)

Problem: Enemy or friendly units stand still and fail to react with the environment or your character.
Solution: Try firing a few rounds into the air. This usually triggers the bots' script and they move to cover. Alternatively, try reloading the bots.

"Ins_bot_quota" doesn't work.But "ins_bot_add" command works instead.(mp is 12).

Open your "Insurgency2/Insurgency/cfg"directory and find and check "training_offline.cfg" and "Training_online.cfg" with your "Notepad".

Change "disconnect" to "connect" to "ins_bot_add" being blocked those .cfg files.

(Reccomend) Farther update will cause "Users unwanted" So set Auto-Update on to off!:steamsad:

Try restarting your computer, and then contacting Mac support if it fails. It seems to work for other Mac users.
