Tutorial To Remove Ingame Background Blur Easy !
By Sgt Gyn
Hello and welcome to this tutorial where you will learn how to disable the ugly Depth of Field in Soulcalibur VI

  • Screenshots of Before DOF removal and After DOF removal[i.postimg.cc]
  • (Keep in mind the picture is compressed and lost quality even with zoom. The ingame results are much better)

  • The tutorial will be in 4 very easy parts, so make sure you follow them so everything works fine !
  • So without waiting anymore Let's Go !

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tutorial Part 1
  • Navigate to your Soul Calibur 6 "WindowsNoEditor folder
  • C:\Users\*YourName*\AppData\Local\SoulcaliburVI\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tutorial Part 2
  • Open the "Scalability.ini" file using the notepad: (Right Click, Open with notepad / any text editor you have)
  • If you can't find it, paste the text written below to your address bar to save your time :D
  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\SoulcaliburVI\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Scalability.ini

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tutorial Part 3
  • Add the the lines written below inside the Scalability.ini file & then save the file.
[PostProcessQuality@3] r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tutorial Part 4
  • Start SoulCalibur VI and the settings should now be applied ingame and have fun !
  • Don't forget to thumbs up this guide or writte down a comment if you need some help :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Reminder-

Keep in mind this is for people running the game on maximum settings and it will only disable depht of field.
All the other post-processing effects beside depht of field will be activated.

If you are not running the SoulCalibur VI on max settings and using a lower graphic setting preset in the menu
Then you can modify the number next to "PostProcessQuality" to make it work on your lower settings.

Example for - Maximum - High - Medium - Low in that order

Maximum:
[PostProcessQuality@3]

High:
[PostProcessQuality@2]

Medium:
[PostProcessQuality@1]

Low:
[PostProcessQuality@0]

If you want to remove every post processing effect the game uses, then use the low settings above.
and leave all the other settings the way you want.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonus - Remove Grain

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can add this line in your Scalability.ini if you want to remove Grain (Not sure if it will work like in Tekken 7)

1 -Open up the Scalability.ini with any text editor - and paste the line inside it then save.

r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hopefully it worked for you :D Happy gaming !

or you just put post processing on low in the graphics settings. Solves the problem instantly and removes the background blur.

Works perfectly. Thanks!

If it doesn't work for you at first, try running notepad in administrator mode and opening the file that way.
